RP: YSS Kaiyō Mission Fourteen: Uekiya pt. II

YSS Kaiyo II - Shuttle Bay

Santo-Hei Kurohane Shunjou, a new transfer to the ship fresh out of training, sat in the cockpit of a Mamushi, the canopy open. As much as he was dying to get out there and join the fray, he was not there to sortie. The cat-like Minkan flicked through the idling fighter's systems while a maintenance crewman inspected the craft from outside, checking off a list on a personal device. Shunjou spoke in a professional tone, but he couldn't mask the bored anxiety at the edge of it. "Sensors are working properly. Life support looks to be in order. Full supply of emergency O2. Computer systems are all fine..."

He huffed a quiet sigh through his nose. He knew this stuff was important. Blasting off in a Mamushi would do no good if there were something wrong they didn't know about. But would he even be called on to launch? He knew a battle was going on outside, but there was only one Yamatai fighter out there, supporting power-armored infantry. It was possible the battle plan wouldn't involve any more spacecraft, and he'd be stuck in here during what, in his mind, should be his first taste of real combat. Oh, well... Orders were orders. The Chusa knew what she was doing, and sound tactics were more important than sating his lust for action. Even he could admit that.

"Alright, weapon systems are next. I'll open up the bay, keep clear." After taking a moment to ensure no one was too close to the underside of the craft or in front of it, the pilot fiddled about with the control panel some more, causing the doors under the plane to slide outward, then up and in, revealing the internal torpedo bay to allow the crewman to take a close look. He slumped back in his seat as he waited, his eyes wandering lazily about the shuttle bay before settling on another Mamushi beside them. Still one more fighter to check after this one, and it wasn't a quick process. Fun...

The seconds that Sacre had alotted for everyone to get in place ran down quickly. Sacre set her NSB to go in soon as they were through to help with targeting. Saya was off target, so Sacre adjusted the cut lines, giving Walter more length he needed to cut, but he was also the best prepared for this operation. Sacre hoped that Saya being off target wasn't going to blow this whole thing. There was no time for it. Then the counter hit zero.

As one, six energy blades, a lance, and a cutting torch bit into the airlock. The glowing red cuts that they made on the hull grew as each member of the cutting team worked their section. The percentage counter ran down quickly as not one but eight made their way through the airlock. Then the lines connected. William's pressure on the lance sent the Airlock hurtling inside to reveal what was waiting for them.

The cutting group all started to cut in, Odo with them, though everyone had large weapons, he lagged a little bit behind and had to push with a bit more effort to get through. Eventually, they all reached the center and the airlock fell through. Odo stepped back and allowed the true combat people to move forward first, but he did ready his weapon, just in case it was needed.

Seinosuke followed up from the rear of the group in close order, keeping a watchful eye out for any PA or nonsense skirting around the others. While the Juni set him down on the fringe of the others, green eyes to the heavens, one of his armored fists tightened around his sniper. "If you need a second torch I have once here." The telepathic message was sent one at a time to each person nearby him, making sure not to accidentally extend it into the craft they were stood upon as he plucked the Dragonbreath from his Mindy, holding it out idly while they waited for the breach. It was lucky that there weren't any patrols that had detected them as of yet..

Saya jumped as she felt the hand on her shoulder, eyes wide now as she was forced to look at what was happening, but at the same time the contact with another person in this endless void, well it did help a little. It showed that she wasn't alone... Looking over her shoulder to Ragnar, she gave him a nod and a weak smile, though it wouldn't be seen through the helmet.

With the boost to her co fidence, she bore down on her cutting edge, forcing it back in line with the others to hopefully give a better cut. She wouldn't let the others down.

She could have her panic attack in the ship afterwards afterall.

"I'm going to, erm, check on..."

Hoshi looked like she was about to get up and even raised her hands to push off of the armrests of the Type 35 starship chair, but then turned back around and settled in with SPINE.

Asuka called out, "We're being chased, for sure! I'm giving the helm and Mamushi data on our pursuers as it comes in! We may have all of their power armor teams' divided attention right now! Not only that, but some strange stealthed PA are erupting from the friendlies!"

Hoshi nodded, slightly unnerved and, yet, seemingly buoyed by the news.

"Barlow-hei, is the TTD ready to go? I would ask that you speak to engineering about it immediately. Gravity-heisho, focus less on the main weapon array, for now, and more on prepping for a jump! Thesilis-heisho, please come back to your post! I need you ready to take over for ship-wide security at the drop of a hat!"

She looked to the tankette-like girl in the altered Emma body, "Be ready to fire on the enemy armor teams if they gain on us anymore!!"

IYS Empire

There was a small scuffle of movement and AIES would be able to identify it to the armors that were sweeping the innards. The noise had been the clatter of the hunk of the airlock that had been cut with precision by the armor team. It had been made to be a near-perfect circle of Zesuaiaum plating and weaker alloys underneath, not more than a meter thick. It was a little wonkily-cut where Lauren Strong had been searing into it with her aether blade saber.

The sensors of the armors, as well as the numerous NSB's being sent out, showed an almost completely gutted and expansive cavern. It was as if it extended from starboard to port-side of the ship, but of course that was impossible. There were dinky and intermittent walkways that connected doorways and often blast doors which. The airlock hull had crashed into one nearby and had broken it and the Zesuaium-plated alloy door section was now drifting lazily in the zero gravity interior.

There was a small reddish pink flash from the stern side of the cavern, far in the distance, but near enough that the sensors system of the Mindy would be able to identify the source of the blast as an aether rifle of a power armor-clad attacker, now ducking into a far doorway in the very center of the stern's wall. They were visible only by their heat signature.

"Drop in," Eden said over comms to the full force of her team, "Pointmen, eliminate hostile and avoid the weapon fire."

Wyatt nodded once at the order, quickly dashing over to the enemy ship's new entrance before he disappeared over the edge and dropped down onto one of the upper walkways that gave him a line of sight on the enemy. The marksman landed on bent knees and didn't waste any time before he began pulling back on his bow's drawstring, wrenching back hard before loosening the aether-tipped, magnetically accelerated projectile down toward the enemy armour.

He deftly sidestepped to compensate for the lack of cover and nocked another arrow, firing it at the same enemy just incase the first one didn't perform as intended. They had opened a stranger's front door and here was the welcoming committee, somewhat underwhelming yet fortunate that it was only the one.

The door stayed ajar as the enemy's form looked to lower its shoulder as they were hit with the bow's arrow and then they looked to be pulled or had pulled themselves through the doorway, which stayed halfway open in the far distance of the near-empty expanse for a few moments before it was closed brusquely, during which time Eden had ordered,

"Peio, stern door!" Muyomi then teleported to the far end of the cavernous space and pulled on, then keyed in to the blast door's panel, but it had been locked from the other side. She took a step back and shot the door with forearm weaponry's pulse cannons, marking the door.

"Locked, but not high-grade. We could get through these," Peio Muyomi said over comms.

"Cover me for our entrance!" Eden said quickly, aloud. "I'm going to try the ship's bow-side door! SAINT, science, and snakes, stay central of this room, but watch your backs while watching ours."

Like Muyomi, she teleported to the other side of the large area, this time to the ship's "front" and tried to open this door the traditional method, which garnered no results. She stomped a foot into it, then another, denting the blast door. She then she began pulling her fists back and her photonics array brass knuckles that had just formed jutted out a quarter as far as they could go, about a half of a meter. They began piercing into the door. Eden expected backup and was only occupying the port-side section to the doorway while she did this.

Wyatt grunted slightly as he saw the target get dragged back behind cover, personally he blamed the ship for having some difference in it's gravity compared to what he was used to but regardless the minkan threw the bow over his shoulder and fired up his teleportation module to get closer to the action.

Upon hearing the Shosa's request for cover and aid, he moved over to the door and stuck an armoured fist into each of the hand holds Eden had made, pulling against the mechanism with his wrist mounted hand cannons ready to spew plasma at the enemy armour. Personally he also wanted to see how well his shot had landed up-close.

Do not be the first into the breach. You are not well-shielded. You are not on point.

The registration of boots hitting the ground resounded in the hallway below Kyoi. All clear. Breach, now. She grabbed onto the broken lip, hopping in after the squad. She saw the flash of the rifle fire across the hallway. Hostile, marked on HUD, sharing with team. Strategic analysis phase is currently active, splitting process power to 20-80 tac-strat.

She remained trained down the room, towards the enemy. If the enemy even dared peek out, using some cover, she was blasting that cover to pieces. She knew how much damage a fin-discarding sabot would do, and she wasn't afraid to do it. She dared whoever that was show their head again. Bring it, we'll see how your technology stands up to death.

Halting emotional interference. The optimal strategy currently is to relieve pressure from the Kaiyo. To do so, the weapons systems must be captured. Requesting...

"Request: Capture the weapons. Securing this objective may allow the Kaiyo to be relieved of some pressure as well as us being able to use the Yuumi's cannons against itself." Kyoi stated over communications.

The klaxon filled the cargo bay with its alarming noise as air was pumped out from within the darkened interior. The noise of three reactors spooling would soon go quiet as the bay door opened to show empty space. A silvery Anthedon PA with very obvious signs of modification stepped steadily toward the opening into the void, wings unfolding as he did.

"This is Spectre all systems go," a man's low and steady voice spoke, "Taking off."

The silver suit of armor launched out of the bay with explosive velocity disappearing in a flash of light as he jumped to the YSS Kaiyō II.

Behind YSS Kaiyō II

Another flash of light from that of a teleporter strobed but there was nothing there. As hostiles began to close in the stealthy armor stayed silent within its 'pocket universe' lying in wait. A pair of invisible hands began to draw small cylinders from a partially open panel letting them float around himself as he waited. He would not have to wait long.

As the hostiles entered the precise spot he wanted them the cylinders, having drifted apart, began swarming the approaching enemies drowning them in bright flashes of antimatter. Six missiles rained in one after the other, while his grip on Kokū Ken tightened in anticipation.

"Kiseki-hei, elaborate!" Eden said.

Boss said, "We are being hailed by a Star Army of Yamatai vessel that has recently dropped out of FTL near the enemy fleet. Their signatures show the recent emissions of a TTD."

Hoshi breathed out, "Open a line!"

Kiseki-hei, elaborate

A smile appeared underneath the mask of the Mindy. Current emotion: Smug. Reason: Allowed to elaborate on the capabilities of the Yuumi.

"The Yuumi-class has multiple powerful weapons, but the most powerful are the Legacy Cannons. These cannons can be ejected from the ship itself, boasting their own engines to re-orient in space. The Legacy Cannons can cause an area of space to collapse on itself, dealing massive damage to a fleet, and cannot be disrupted by obstacles. Alternatively, the Legacy Cannons can produce a small black hole."

"Additionally, the Legacy Cannons, as a method to annihilate anything the size of the Yuumi, can establish a lock on enemy battleships. Once this lock is established, the Legacy Cannons have the ability to teleport the enemy with such precise ability that it can simply disperse the target's individual molecules across a region of space. The Legacy Cannons are also powerful enough to simply teleport an enemy into a black hole."

She cleared her throat. "Simpler words, um...don't let that lock on. It's a really big relief we managed to enter here before one of them pointed anywhere in our directions. But if we capture their weapons control, we can use that thing against the enemy fleet."

"Permission to board my craft is granted, along with anything else you could need, Vice Admiral," Hoshi said to the Chujo. She the allowed the line to be closed and said to Anastasia and Gravity by looking at each quickly, "Belay my previous orders. Be on offensive, helm. Engineering, retain normal combat operating procedures."

She looked up, "Boss, have our second fighter pilot deploy and cover their asset! Establish encrypted comms between their asset and ours immediately!"

"Right away, Chusa," said the MEGAMI as she comm'd in to both members of the Star Army, one in the cargo and shuttle bay where he lay in wait with the Mamushi and another in the modded Elysian armor.

Eden busted through the door further, but not fully.

The Teien mother said, "We'll give them a black hole, if my crew believes themselves to be up to the task. Harris-heisho and Sacre-hei, would you work with this plan to take the weapons systems?"

As an aside, Teien Eden in her NH-40 body and Mindy 4 added, "Command and science- stay close in the center of this cavern, ready to cover us and protect yourselves."

The door opened partially via a breach after Eden's beating and they were through and able to see a pristine, white, glassy hallway wall. There were two ways to go, starboard or port-side. The hard suction of the zero gravity versus artificial gravity moved Eden's armor marginally until she shifted her inertia control exactly at the same time that a force-field engaged on the doorway to protect the innards of the frontal section of the ship from becoming a vacuum.

"Deploy NSBs," Eden said aloud, watching as some drones went through the blast door's breach and were allowed to trespass on the enemy ships some twenty meters before multiple, simultaneously, faced a ninety degree angle and went down another hallway that their sensors were able to track as 120 meters long and free of obstacles with the same visuals and general data of what Wyatt and Eden, amongst others, were able to see. Two NSBs of each group had separated and looked over the stern-side wall that faced the front-sections 120 meter hallway. There were maintenance conduits that needed to be opened by a pair of expert hands. Everyone on the team could tap into the NSB's sensors and scans.

"Catch up to the deployed bits!" Eden said while utilizing thrusters through the gap in the door and then super fast through the starboard-side hall to begin the journey to catching up with the position of some of the nodal support bits. "Starboard-side recon, only. Leave the port-side hallway for science and command to take if we run into a dead end or there are overpowering forces and we need to back-pedal."

The door was wrenched open with a mighty groan of failed mechanisms and Wyatt readied his weapons... to find nothing, the marksman let out a small, forlorn sigh and listened to the plans as they were laid out - it seemed easy enough, just follow the drones and rip a hole into anything that showed resistance. A few running strides were taken as Wyatt pushed off of the ground and propelled himself down the IYS ship's length, slowing slightly to change trajectory and speed down the starboard-side hallway - he could feel the shift in weight as the suit's gel lining pressed ever so subtly against his skin before he accelerated and it evened out. Being in hostile territory, the minkan was constantly scanning each sector for any signs of hostility that might need to be dealt with.

Shunjou walked through the final steps of the maintenance check on the Mamushi by rote, and everything seemed to be in working order. He was just about to shut down the craft when he was contacted by Boss and ordered to escort the new arrival. After taking a moment to blink away his surprise, he responded with a wide grin. "Affirmative, I will launch right away." Though the reply was kept short and professional, his excitement was palpable. No doubt his tail would be swishing about were it not tucked safely away inside his flight suit. He took hold of the helmet resting at his side and placed it over his head carefully over his pointed ears, then connected the helmet's HUD to the fighter's systems.

The pilot closed and sealed the canopy of the Mamushi, then took hold of the flight controls. With practiced ease, he went about the takeoff procedure, and within moments he was blasting out into the black through the force-shield that separated the atmosphere of the ship from the vacuum of space. He maneuvered the fighter toward Spectre's PA, patching into the secured comms he had been granted. "Friendly asset, this is Yatagarasu. I'm your support. I'll try to stay out of your way, but leave some bogeys for me, would you?"

Anastasia's head swiveled to look at the technical information sliding across her screen, before reversing direction to look at Hoshi questioningly. "TTD has cooled from last use, and can be spooled at the ready in twenty seconds."

The Elysian nodded as the orders were belayed, which brought her somewhat at ease.

Kaori took up defensive positioning during the breach, keeping the back end of the group secured during their entry. The Neko was however quickly baffled at what she found inside. With the offensive fire taken care of, she was left to analyze their current policies, which didn't make much sense.

The inside of the ship was no less sparse, cold, and hostile as the outside. The latter was expected, but this void of unused space was rather alerting. Even the largest of maintenence conduits didn't exceed a few meters in diameter- this space could span hundreds. Either the IYS Empire was significantly less efficient at design than they let on, or this gutted interior meant there was more at play here than initially expected.

The small scientist floated by the significantly taller Eden towards her designated position, relaying a brief message. "This isn't standard Yuumi design. I feel like this is a trap." Despite her concerns, Kaori deployed her NSBs and kept her position at- what anyone's guess was- the center of the cavernous bay.

"Copy that, YSS Kaiyō II. Jinja Emi-Chujo out," her soft spoken voice confirmed and then ordered the bridge crew, "bring us in quietly. We might be able to back up Suites-heisho."
The sublight engines glowed softly as the ship began a slow acceleration with minimal emissions. It was not Emi's personal ship, but it would make do.

The incoming Mindy-clad soldiers dodged and weaved to no avail as the missiles struck home under Candon's precise guidance. A sniper at heart, he'd laid his trap with precision and now his blade would follow suit. As only three of the previous squadron escaped the barrage they carried with them even greater inertia than before.

The twin nuclear reactors spooled up, roaring through the suit as dense fields of gravitons formed around the arm mounted GPDs. Candon let them come. Dropping his cloak at the last possible moment he threw his right fist at the helmet of the first damaged Mindy, gravitons exploding into the suits face with massive blunt force sending it careening past Specter in a flat, uncontrolled spin while he accelerated hard into the next attack with a devastating explosive uppercut to the chin of the second unshielded Mindy, it's helmet disappearing from view.

The last soldier had seen the merciless beating and charged toward the deadly Anthedon with full shields, every missile from her shoulder pods launched, and her saber-rifle ignited for melee combat. Candon was guessing redhead, with his familiarity with Neko anatomy his next move would be all too easy. At just over four feet with a bust doubling Masumi's this Neko should have stuck to chucking the grenades she kept on her bandolier.
He cast a gravitational barrier in front of him as he accelerated away from the mad cat slowly to somewhat match her reckless speed.

A massive series of explosions erupted as the missiles collided with the gravitational anomaly, concealing them both from each others sight. Candon's math was perfect as he evaded to the left and downward relative to his right-handed attacker who emerged from the explosion with a swipe of the saber-rifle that missed by centimeters only because of the restriction of her arms range of motion as she passed, turning to make a second pass. Candon opened his fingers to release a handful of grenade pins that didn't belong to him for his combatant to see, her scramble cut short as a sea of aether swallowed her suit.

"Spectre to Kaiyō, you're clear, awaiting new orders."

Finding nothing relevant to say to his commander, the turncoat technician took to going starboard. It was around this time the Mirrorverse-borne Minkan finally released his NSBs, and still held the three blades in Stars. Of course, Walter shouldn't be keeping Kyoi's aether-sabre rifle, no matter how advantageous he felt about keeping it around. So, he paused, and had one of his floating gauntlets go to Kyoi-hei so she can have her weapon back.

"I've never been here, but I've definitely heard of it from collegues. It's just the hangar, everyone; it doesn't look it it because there's nothing here anymore, and probably no one here because no one picked us up yet."

Walter seemed relaxed while also on guard. While he feels like no one will come in here, there's the lingering expectation that some filthy Imperial will turn the corner and gut him alive with the ferocity of a carnivore. Fortunately for him, Walter has more than enough drone-like gear, and also explosives, to make it easier to not die.
