YSS Kaiyo Bridge
Mochi had stood and briskly saluted the Taii as she entered the Bridge, nodding also to welcome the companions she brought with her. In the space of that tilt of his head, the Science Officer had immediately identified that the tall female was some sort of high ranking official. From what he remembered of the time in his father's company, the blonde had seen many who carried themselves in the same way meeting with his father.

The reminder of his family made him wrinkle his nose up a little involuntarily and without registering the action before he returned to his seat. Leaning back once more into the padding, the Juni grabbed his pot noodle and awaited to receive any useful information to work with other than preliminary EM scans.

The usual, what could be expected from ships nearby other than he could see this was easily more than ships they had in their own wing. Not a problem, given they probably had inferior tech to their own.

Slurping a mouthful of scrumptious ramen, the comms in his ears crackled into life - a request to guess where the bombs would be stored. Well.. he would have to guess, there were no records of this class of ship in any database he had access to.

With a swipe of his hand - hashi resting inside his cup - Mochi called up a hologram framework of the ship, noting it's inefficient jagged layout. Sloppy. A second or so passed, processing several possible locations of where bombs would be stored while glancing at the live camera footage. Successful, the Juni relayed his proposed search locations for munitions to the away team.

Misaki sipped nervously at her tea, her body quivering ever so slightly and only Eden could feel it as well. She responded telepathically, "Either way, that battleship is worrisome." She was trying her best to look like as stable an XO as possible and sipped again at her tea to hide it. She swallowed a little bit of nothing before she looked around the bridge, before looking anxiously at the viewscreen and sipped at her hot tea as she waited for something to happen.

"I have faith in the away team, though maybe we need to surgical strike the battleship's plasma arrays."

She looked over towards the starship operations station, "What is the status of our weapons, and maybe we need to make a move ourselves."

L'kor hangar bay

Yoshida let out a victory woop as she quickly slagged the cockpit of the bomber to make sure a spare pilot couldn't just hop in. Then she noticed her antics had attracted some attention. "I'd love to play but I have a job to do!" Rather than directly engage the enemy shr rocketed across the hanger towards the second bomber, low and fast, not letting up on that trigger for an instant. Every pink blast ate away at whateve it touched, melting and obliterating the floor and walls of the hangar, the hull of the bombers, and unfortunate pilots who failed to activate sheilds or take off in time to escape the wrath of the pintsized neko.

L'Kor Battleship Hangar

Anastasia listened to the chatter on the comms, surveying the situation. "This is your hobby, Meissa. I'll provide cover fire."

Anastasia ducked out of her cover for a moment, sending out her NSBs to drive back the approaching L'Kor mooks.

"Hai!" Shan kept the heat up, using the point defense primarily for suppression against the lighter enemy mobiles. She brought her attention towards the next carrier, and fired at the center of volume for the main body while she ignored the tail-like segments. The few weapons not available to fire at the target were given reload orders, to remain prepared for future use.

L'Kor Battleship Hangar

Irit concentrated the fire of her lighter weapon on the armors damaged by Madoka's fire, emptying her magazine with a few controlled bursts.

Unable to view the whole battlefield from her plain old armor, she wondered whether or not it was possible to slave the health telemetry of whatever infantry units she accompanied to her own armor unit. The Star Army's PA had vast data capabilities, but she'd never actually seen anyone use a data monitoring program like that. Irit chalked that up to her own inexperience, and actually turned her head to check on everyone else!

YSS Kaiyo's Bridge

Aiko hadn't deigned to answer Wil's question, instead having taken a sip of her tea while keeping her head held high. She'd already told him to watch and learn alongside her. Although she itched for battle while she watched it unfold around them—and was sure the Nepleslian boy did, too—she had to stay her hand for now. Even Ketsurui princesses had to obey their chain of command in the Star Army.

"Ha!" Aiko snapped, discarding her teacup without another thought. "Ross-taisa hasn't even given our foe a chance to surrender! They should be so lucky to find mercy in the face of the Empire!"

She glanced over to William, assessing him from the corner of her eye. Ready enough, she concluded.

"Shall I have my samurai prepare for battle, Taii?" Aiko asked, addressing her captain. "An M7 would be a boon for us right now, not to mention my own Kirie's strength—she must accompany me, so I would have to go, as well."

L'Kor Battleship Hangar

Mitsuko was relieved when the second wave appeared. Briefly. Before she realized they were planning to fire directly into the crowd of L'Kor she was harassing. The projected double disappeared just as she reappeared, letting out a surprised squawk inside of her helmet as she quickly exited melee range. Her shields were back up at full strength just in time, as shrapnel curved and bounced off of them. She hurried to the back side of the hangar, reacquiring targets, trying to calm herself as she took stock of the progress they had made.

Taking cover behind a shuttle, she used the moment of safety to charge her forearm weapons. And to take care of one other pressing piece of business. Muyomi noticed a small, red warning pop up in the corner of her HUD, alerting her to the very formal and detailed citation the Heisho had somehow written up in that brief moment, rebuking her for her unauthorized weapons usage. The Taii received her own copy of the document, sent as Mitsuko popped out from around the L'Kor shuttle, pouring twin beams of aether into a small group of enemy armors, and possibly out through the open bay door beyond them.

"Finish disabling the vehicles and head for the exit, the secondary team can finish securing the area." Mitsuko marked the 'northeast' doorway on the map of the area for her fellow crew members, which was the one she happened to be closest to.

"No holes in you, Chief?" Irit asked Mitsuko directly, having finished changing her SMG's magazine in no particular hurry now that three more combat armors were tossing fire around. If anyone had suffered injury yet it was probably their august leader. Though the MINDY was tough enough she should have been protected from the hail of fire rained down on her, the exact sort of scenario she had wanted to avoid honestly, but, nekos. She wasn't paid in 'should have beens' though.

Moving gracefully, she waited for the people with real weapons and combat training to close in on the unsecured door before joining them in a few bounds. No flight though, and no hovering, not inside the debris filled hanger bay.

L'Kor Battleship Hangar

Mochi's information on the battleship layout was relayed to the away team and they could see that through the northeast exit of the hangar was a hallway that led to barracks. Through there was another hallway that went to two unknown rooms, one of which had two hallways that led to the bridge, which was even more northeasterly. Adjacent to that was an engineering room and beyond that, more barracks and unknown rooms, hallways to explore, and enemy to alight with the power of the Star Army of Yamatai.

Having had Mat's bayonet plunge into them, the enemy power armor groped at their belly, where the tip of the aether had pierced the armor. The pulse cannon from Mat's left wrist did quite a bit in the way of completely downing shields of the L'Kor and their life was ended completely when the SMG bursts hit them.

Carter had gone after the armor damaged by Orion before disrupting the lives of those the girls had marked. His gauss cannons hit them each twice on the torso and were laying on their backs moments after the LASR ended them, striking their heads and permanently disabling them.

In a wonderfully proficient way, Meissa's aether saber made contact with the enemy power armor's chest and decimated shields, flaying them apart in order for Meissa to do the most damage she possibly could in her next movement.

Anastasia, covering Meissa, lowered the shields of several L'Kor and brought them to the perfect place to be eradicated.

The trigger-happy black tailed Yoshida eradicated the ability for a bomber to depart and squashed the pilot's ability to persist as one of the living in the hangar.

The L'Kor power armor did not let up and shot out at all of the away team. Namely, they were now targeting the four that had arrived late.

"Good thing they're going after us, as you guys need to give them the slip!" Aio said enthusiastically.

Muyomi said nothing, shooting more safely and securely while she remained tight-lipped.

"Grip 'em, girls while they slip 'em!" Madoka called out. "We have a handle on this! Go!"

YSS Kaiyō
Bridge

Rei stood guard outside, calm and serene as her Eihei Neko ears listened for any disruptions aboard the ship or on the bridge.

There were conversations upon conversations happening there.

To Aiko, Eden said, "No, I want you to observe, for now. This is a learning opportunity, not a chance to prove your stripes." Eden looked to Saki, nodding, "Shan! Weapon status?"

"Three of the other plumeria in the squadron are honing in on this carrier! Power armor teams have suffered marginal damage and loss!" Catherine Ross told the bridge.

"I'm trying to breach contact to negotiate with the L'Kor!" Deio Asuka said excitedly.

"How is that going?" Eden asked.

Asuka was hesitant, "... Not well."

"Keep trying!"

Meissa pivoted her left foot inwards, all drones, and her left arm's Aether Cannon firing into the head of the enemy power armor, the aether ripping her target apart. She skewered the enemy armor through with her Aether Beam again as her enemy's head was vaporized by the Aether onslaught. She turned towards the rest of the rest of the power armors targeting Yoshida, using her drones and her forearm cannon to great effect as she marched her way forwards with her new shield in tow.
"Thought you'd at least put up a better fight this close. You're a disappointment." Meissa muttered to her new 'friend' stuck on her Aether Beam.

The several L'Kor whose sheilds had been downed by Anastasia's SMG fire quickly found themselves the next recipients of Carter's "cleanup." Before the lifeless bodies of his last victims had even hit the floor, the barrel of Carter's LASR was in motion, tracking rapidly towards the unfortunate enemies. There was a short pause before he began as he took a sharp breath, and held it, analyzing the positions of his next targets. The next six seconds were a blur, as, in a blistering display of uncannily precise marksmanship, Carter placed an armor piercing LASR round in each of the unshielded L'Kor's heads, then let out the breath he'd been holding.

Carter was snapped out of his focus by the order to advance out of the Hangar. After a moment's thought, he leapt out of his cover, using his CFS propulsion to speed upwards and along the roof of the hangar towards the marked exit, he shifted his solid volumetric barrier from in front of his cover to directly below him in an effort to foil any enemies who decided to attempt to shoot him down as he flew across the bay, staying tight to the ceiling.

Yoshida was delighted upon noticing she had escaped the clutches of the power armor group on her tail. She stopped upon the second bomber who's cockpit she had so inefficiently slagged with aether, and took aim on the remaining bombers from a standing position, taking out cockpits if they could be seen, and if not, clusters of thrusters wherever she could see them. She never stopped shooting the whole while, laughing all the way. "We're giving these L'kor the belt aren't we!?"

"Weapons are doing alright, checking heat levels... Nominal. We'll make this place a cloud of shrapnel at this rate!" Even as she excitedly noted the effective and potent destruction, Nito Hei Shan momentarily left the main weapons. This one-point-five-second diversion of her attention was needed to use the defensive cannons in order to damage, destroy, or at least scare off the encroaching bombers that had been finding holes in her screen of firepower. The short change in tempo was followed through by a redoubled effort to annihilate the second carrier, as her sighting brought all the firepower into only a few meters' precision at the estimated impact locations.

"Unless we have wandered off course rather severely, this is not Nepleslia, Joto Hei. For ease and clarify of communications, please refer to me as Murakami-Heisho." She seemed more concerned with the small breach in protocol than the possibility that she or her suit had sustained any damage. Even when she'd been frantically fleeing an explosion moments earlier.

"According to Iemochi-Juni, there's a high likelihood that our path to Engineering will pass through the enemy Barracks. Expect further resistance before we reach our destination." Mitsuko sighed to herself, remembering the group of unarmed NMX Neko she'd given a chance to escape the enemy ship she'd been assigned to capture, and how they'd returned later to almost cost her team their mission, and possibly several lives. "N-no...no hesitation, shoot all unknowns on sight and continue moving towards the target. Form up, Infantry in front." She prepared to line the others up properly while lingering behind to bring up the rear, and make sure everyone was moving along in a timely fashion. They couldn't afford to linger.

"My most sincere apologies, Heisho," Irit replied without a marked amount of sincerity, "I will accept that as an 'I am in satisfactory condition Postumia-hei and require no medical attention', Murakami-Heisho."

Moving through the ship's corridors by columns sounded like an excellent way to receive commendations and gain experience for young, eager infantrymen and women. She hung back to let the first few ranks breach the door, then followed.

Bridge:

William noted Aiko's silence, and stood up. He watched the bridge crew as they worked. He felt way out his element. He watched the view screen as the ship began to fire at the battleship. He flinched unconsciously as the enemy ships fired back... He was seriously missing good ol' terra firma right about now, though he didn't show it. His face remained blank like stone, watching and waiting for a command.

L'Kor Battleship Hangar

Anastasia moved along with the rest of the group, falling into formation as a team when the coast was clear. "Affirmative, Murakami-Heisho." She followed up near the rear of the group as the door was breached. She had her Saber Rifle and SMG at the ready, retracting her NSBs along the way.

Bridge

Misaki sent a final message by touch, "Let me handle the weapons engagement situation." She walked over to the Starship Operations console and seemed to stand just off to her right side, inspecting the console and the operator, "Focus on trying to get their weapons offline, maybe if we take their spear, the opponent will yield."

She sipped her tea, inspecting the battlefield through the console. She agreed that the second carrier was a good striking point and would let the Starship Operator do her work upon it.

Crew Cabin

Amanozako had spent her time since being released from torture and imprisonment, as she saw it, in her cabin. She had no desire to interact with the enemy crew, so she had only come out when she had needed to, to get food or to clean up, and usually late at night so there was less chance of encountering people she did not want to. But now there was something going on and she did not want to be trapped in a windowless cabin without access to the external sensors or cameras. If the ship was in battle or about to be destroyed she would rather face that end fighting than huddled in a corner like a coward in a cell.

So she pulled on her jumpsuit, boots, belt and what little else she had been left with since getting to this place and left the cabin. She knew the internal arrangements of these ships decently well from having boarded several in battles during the last war, so getting to the bridge was no issue. . .

Outside the Bridge

What was an issue was the sentinel standing outside the command deck, guarding the hatch that lead into the bridge. Amanozako came to a stop before the guard.

"I need to see the captain" she said flatly.
