Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Bishop One eh? Guess I have watch over the clergy. I enjoy the chess references I just wish I wasn't so bad at it. Nyton thought.

"I suppose we should see just how effective their basic combat training was. If we have the time for it they should be tested. We can get an idea on how they operate and they can figure out how we do our business." Nyton replied over to Masako.

It appeared that things were beginning to wind down and Nyton began to look around for the signal that they should regroup for the next step.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"I agree," Masako spoke up from Nyton's comment about seeing the newcomers basics. "I'd rather not have another comrade who has no training in even basic armor skills," she replied as she crossed her arms under her breasts with her business face on.

She remembered Leutre and Morita quite well when it came to those qualities, even if she had only seen Morita when he had been carried out from the last armor sim the crew had been in.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Wait a minute, I thought I did pretty good on my first mission!" Asher answered quickly, in a suprised tone. Not taking a moment to think about the fact that she wasn't talking about him. He figured she was making a clever stab at him.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Ahem!" Yukari said, looking at the collected group.

She waited for everyone's attention first, then continued, looking a bit flustered. "Your callsigns do indeed follow rank. This is primarily for the sake of confusion: most Star Army vessels assign officers and higher-ranked personnel callsigns that are either personalized or start with a 'leader' and continue down. We instead use a modified chess piece system, which was successful in our last attack."

Yukari waited a moment longer, then continued. "Kimura-Heisho, you are our chief computer technician. You are in charge of the computer systems on board this vessel. I realize this does not keep you very busy. In addition, you will serve as Freeman-Juni's secondary technician, and will assist him unless computer-related duties become necessary. Your callsign in all cases will be Bishop Two." She bowed to Takuma, who had not said too much during the briefing.

"Ashitaka-Heisho, you are familiar with your responsibilities as a medical officer aboard this vessel. You are considered the primary doctor for all intents and purposes, and you are comfortable in the medical lab. Please assist the Kohosei as much as you can, especially with the Soul Transfers. Your callsign is Queen Two." She bowed to the awkwardly tall Yamataian.

"Saito-Hei ... you could fill many positions on this ship. You have been a power armor pilot, a medical officer, a sensor specialist and a science specialist. I understand you also have your Kessaku certification, which will help Kimura-Heisho in times of need. You know your primary duties are to assist on the bridge as our sensor specialist, but you do not fit into the other categories well. Miharu recommended and I agreed; your callsign is Pawn Two." She bowed to Miyoko, giving her a smile before moving on.

"Westwood-Hei, Kurohoshi-Juni will handle you." The Shosa's expression did not break a single millimeter. "You are her second-in-command as Knight Two. I trust that is satisfactory for you." She bowed, a bit curtly.

"Serizawa-Hei, you are our primary scientific specialist. The Taisa will have specific duties for you to carry out, and you will work with Saito-Hei on the projects she has already begun. It is obvious you will work with the Kohosei and Ashitaka-Heisho as necessary, so your callsign shall be Queen Three. Your first task will be to converse with Saito-Hei and get up to speed on what she has done so far. The medical portions can be addressed after dinner." She bowed to the specialist.

"Mizuno-Hei, you are our only dedicated fighter pilot. Because of this, your tactical importance is different than Kurohoshi-Juni's squad, but you will still be listed with her as Knight Three. I understand you will be flying our Ryusei II fighter-bomber on most missions -- it is labeled 'Red Two' in our scheme, but will be labeled Knight Three when you are flying it. I would like you to also become proficient using our Fox- and Cougar-class shuttles as well."

"Nakamura-Hei, Tsukade-Hei, as dedicated power armor pilots you will fall under Kurohoshi-Juni's squad as Knight Four and Knight Five, respectively. Please see her for your primary duties, but I believe training will high among them." She bowed to the two armor pilots.

"Sato-Hei, you will be Freeman-Juni's primary technician. He will go to you first to solve engineering issues on this vessel, so I expect you to be ready at a moment's notice. But you will also be a power armor pilot when needed, so your callsign will be Rook Two." She bowed to the Neko.

Seemingly done, she looked at everyone. "For your immediate orders, please settle your things in your chosen quarters, then proceed to one of the two recreation rooms on the Upper Deck. We will be having a power armor training simulation before you report to your duty stations.

"Welcome to the Miharu."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Lots of Knight callsigns it seems... Still, at least it'll be easy to remember then. And it means I'll have some friendly faces in the group right off the bat!

Yuril was quite pleased with that prospect and nodded to herself with a pleased look on her face (Forgetting the fact she'd look a little silly to anyone who saw her doing so). With the closing of the briefing, the neko stood up and smoothed out her uniform for no real reason.

Well, I don't have anything to settle in really... Although I suppose I COULD go look at the place but...

The neko shrugged, again to no one in particular, and decided to wait for Kai and Yoroko.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

So, my job duties remain 'whatever's needed at the time,' it seems. Miyoko returned Yukari's bow, a wry smirk crossing her face upon hearing her designation. She was a bit upset to learn that one of the new members was the new science specialist, but had to admit that it made sense. Doing research and running sensors at the same time wasn't very easy, as she'd learned all too well over Taiie. Besides, he didn't outrank her, so chances were that he wouldn't completely eclipse her skills. I'll just mentally refer to him as my assistant, she decided.

Once Yukari had finished her speech, Miyoko contacted her telepathically. "Am I to mention the Taisa's ST issues to any of the new science or medical personnel if they come to me for information on their duties, or are we keeping that to ourselves for now?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sora looked at Serizawa and Ashitaka with a grin and an embarrassed laugh before she turned to Serizawa, "It seems, you might need the tiara instead, Ichi-kun." She covered her mouth with her right hand as she quietly chuckled before placing it on Serizawa's hand with a gentle pat. "At least you're not a princess?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Kotori nodded to Yukari's words. "Dismissed."

Having allowed most of the to be on their way, Kotori turned her attention to where Masako and Nyton sat and gestured them over to her.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Yukari was about to approach some of the new crew, but she took the time first to send to Miyoko. She used her personal encryption, which Miyoko already had the key to.

"We must keep it secret, for now, until we have solved the mystery. Perhaps even after. SAINT has possibly left us an unwitting tool in our pursuit of Eve."

She walked over to Yuril instead, giving the pilot a small bow. "I was glad to see a smile on your face, Tsukade-Hei. I hope I did not slight you by asking you to obtain your duties from Kurohoshi-Juni."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

So i'm knight four Kai thought looking around the room now that the briefing was done. he stood up from his chair and stretched a bit, trying to figure out which Neko was Kuroshi-juni. He also looked about for Yoroko and Yuril, the latter of which was being spoken to, the former, still sitting down. He walked over to her "Knight three, eh? i'll have to remember who's who now..." he said to her, starting up a conversation.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Second-in-command? This means I do less hittin' and more talkin', damn.

The Hei made an audible sigh.

Responsibilities and Obligations... The Hei thought, nevertheless bowing to Yukari in return. He knew he was the second-most-senior Power Armor pilot on the ship, but Asher was more aware of the enemy than his own comerades, his working with Mara was proof enough.

He looked around at the other Knights, knowing that their blood was on Masako's hands if they died. Though, if she went down, it would be the Hei's hands that were stained. He meditated on the thought for a moment, and came up with a simple solution. He'd just have to kill everything before it had the chance to shoot them, yes, definately.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Serizawa frowned deeply at his designation of Queen 3. The smug grin had quickly retreated from his face when Sora turned the tables on him. He covered his face with the palm of his hand to hide his displeasure.

"I should have expected this was going to be the case," Serizawa lamented, his voice muffled by his own hand. "It was the most likely scenario."

When Kotori gave the dismissal order, Serizawa dispelled his annoyance and allowed his hand to fall free from his face. He stood up from his seat and looked down at Sora.

"Well, we haven't much time so, as my superior, you should decide whether we stood stop by our quarters or head straight over to the recreation rooms for the PA sim."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sora rose from her chair and smiled warmly at her companion, Serizawa. "True, but we do have some time to unpack a little before heading over to the rec room. I think we can spare a few moments to attend to our things before doing so, don't you think, Ichi-kun?" She watched his face curiously as she adjusted her the bottom of her skirt back down to where it was supposed to be. "But this should be interesting to be doing PA training in a simulation chamber rather than outside of the hangar doors."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton took note of Kotori's gesture and stood up carefully so as not to collide into anyone as they rushed off to their assignment.

"Looks like we're up, Masako. Time to do this." he said over to Masako. He waited for her to stand up before walking together with her over to Kotori.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Masako noticed the gesture too, but Nyton was the first to speak up. "I believe so, Claymere-Shoi," she responded and stood up with him.

She followed the giant of a Nepleslia, compared to her anyway, on his right-rear as the pair made their way to Kotori.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Kotori nodded to both her tactical officer and her armor wing leader, the shadow of a smile on her lips. "It seems Suzuka-Shosa decided the power armor session was mandatory, so I wanted to get the most out of it." Her amber eyes flicked from one to the other as she continued softly so that none beyond would easily overhear unless it was a nekovalkyrja whom was straining her ear. "I would like to have a repeat of the battle between the Miharu and the Meng Po, except we would consider that it was the Meng Po whom snuck up on us."

"I will oversee the simulation and have the combat complement of a Nozomi-class scoutship - approximately 12 Black Mindy power armors - infiltrate the Miharu while all of you will 'start' in the power armor bay and try to defend the ship... this would help everyone get to know the ship a little better and would also prepare against a situation which might happen in the future. I'd rather test against a Sakura's complement of 36, but I don't get the feeling you would survive with some pilots being green; so I'd view this mostly as the vaccine before the real thing."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton chuckled softly as he thought back to their first Armor sim. "This could still be considered a nearly impossible mission like the one back on Scorpio base. I see you still like to give us a good challenge." he said quietly as his eyes narrowed slightly and he allowed himself to half-smile back at Kotori. The light crossed Kotori's eyes differently as she looked between himself and Masako and he studied the variations as they shifted. "Very well then, I suppose this will show us just how well the new soldiers handle themselves during a critical situation. I would also like to see if our own have improved any from the last time." The thought of going through another battle scenario was beginning to excite him.

Nyton then looked over to Masako and grinned a little. "What do you think Masako? Think we can pull off being as surprised as the others when everything starts to go down?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

As Sanjuro rose from his seat and bowed to his superiors, he already had the exact schedule of his next few minutes of time planned out to the second. The only thing he required was a change into his uniform...he had been hesitant to wear it at first, seeing as the mission transmission he had received specified a 'secret mission'. Sanjuro figured dressing out of his uniform migh have been a better option, as he would not draw as much attention to his Star Army position. Of course, that part of the day was over with...and the medical officer wasn't exactly overjoyed with the next development of the day. With his usual straight-as-an-arrow stride, he was off to his room in a flash.

All of his belongings were already meticulously unpacked in the short timespan he was given before the briefing, so he had little reason to remain after he had finished putting on his perfectly-ironed, flawless green-paneled uniform. He adjusted his rank pin in the small mirror before quickly walking back out of his quarters, towards the direction of the recreation rooms. On his way, Sanjuro pulled out his datapad and brought up the manuals for military powered armor, as well as a few basic strategy manuals and began to memorize them furiously in preparation. Although this did him little good in his first powered armor simulation, he fervently hoped that it might at least get him through THIS one.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Yuril was a bit surprised when Yukari approached her, she had expected Kai or Yoroko to be first. Not that it matter to her really, the neko quickly gave a bow to her superior, although a bit of a deeper one then the one she received. Before the neko spoke, in about a split second a million thoughts of how she was supposed to properly address her superiors went through her head. The only other instances of speaking to her superiors had really been with the instructors at Fort Ready, and even then she really only had to speak a few words.

"It is no problem Suzuka-Shosa.", the normal, cheery smile flashing onto the neko's face, "I'm just glad to be here, seems I'll learn a lot and have plenty of people to become friends with."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Understood," Miyoko returned to Yukari.

She rose from her seat, but paused before exiting the room. With everyone else standing around talking, she didn't want to leave just yet ... and she was in no rush to get to the simulation. She idly weighed the option of getting herself killed in the first few minutes to gain a reprieve from it, but that would likely carry its own problems. The last thing she needed was for somebody to decide that she needed to take remedial power armor lessons or something. On the other hand, if she did just bad enough, they might think twice before sending her into combat. Not, she reflected, that I really need to put forth an effort to be subpar at fighting anyway.

Giving a mental sigh, the sensor specialist settled on lingering by the door until more people left the room.
