Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Masako glanced sidelong at Nyton before smiling. "Possibly, Ketsurui-Taisa will make this sim hard for us as well, so we will most likely be surprised," she commented. "Since this will be a test for both old and new, I'd be willing to bet there is going to be a nasty surprise for us other than 12 Black Mindies," she stated, with her tone as low as the Taisa's.

The young armor leader's mind was actually pondering armor teams out of there current roster at that very moment. Team Leaders would need to be the experienced armor pilots of the veterans....hmmm...those would be Claymere-Shoi, me, and Westwood-Hei. With ten others from the crew, that would leave two teams of three armor and one team of four. If Claymere-Shoi would agree to creating a central information squad, so he can direct the battles strategy, using the group of four, that leaves Westwood-Hei and me with the teams of three so we could have decent firepower yet not be bogged down with numbers.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Tom had remained quiet and professional during the entire briefing, his thoughts going back and forth from the immediate matters at hand and the situation in the ship's subdeck. There were several things that he felt would need improvement, but finding the correct angle to tackle things would be difficult. Weapons? Shields? Generators?

He cast a glance over to the new crew and offered a friendly nod to each after the official dismissal. It was nice having a new group of people on the ship, and each would definitely prove to be invaluable, he thought.

After all, before now, he was techincally the only full-time engineer on the ship, apart from the sprites when they were on non-combat duty. Now, he had TWO assistants. Imagine the increase in efficiency that would come from it!

Unfortunately, the powerarmor assignment interfered with any immediate opportunity to get to know his new friends. It was time to get ready, and he had to set an example. It came with the territory of his promotion.

Tom looked over to Kotori, Masako and Nyton, noticing that they seemed to be discussing something.

His attention shifted to Yukari. He raised his hand gently, signalling to her.

"Ma'am? May I have a quick word?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Normally, we aren't so lucky in combat as to have everyone already suited to meet an enemy seeing many would be on duty in the bridge or the engine room," Kotori continued for the benefit of Masako and Nyton, "However, this is as much for the experience as for anything else. Our main goal in making simulations like these is to tighten our teamwork for once we get under fire. I do not expect most of our personnel to become aces overnight, but I wish to make sure that in the event that some of us whom favor less fighting end up having no choice but to be caught under fire that they be prepared to defend themselves and support others if they can."

Kotori whisked one hand back to get one long lock of black hair behind her pointed ear. "I do not expect expect miracles, but I do expect the crew's best effort in everything. It is for their own good."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Yoroko looked up at Kai, "Yea, not sure why I am three instead of six though. Oh well, are you either of you going back to your rooms before the simulation?" Yoroko asked.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"if I have time I will" Kai replied. "I didn't get a good lookat it the first time in there, so I kinda wanna check it out before we do the armor sim." kai looked at the still sitting Yoroko and asked "You gonna sit there all day or are we going to get going before they call us for the sim? Yuril looks busy, in any case, but we should still wait for her."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton began to think about the intended scenario as he listened to Kotori talk. There was another flick of her hair noted which he added to his tally. Each new file was part of a compilation that he was studying to better understand his commander. As well as her hair should he be called upon to assist in it's care.

"True a real situation would not have everyone suited up and ready. This exercise should be intended to learn the capabilities of everyone as well as how we work as a team. In light of that then perhaps we should not fuss over the details of realism. We start everyone in the Armor bay and repel invaders throughout the ship. Since they have the ability to teleport we can still be surprised by a rear attack. Through this they can also be trained on what to expect when fighting such an opponent. They will need to learn more what the enemy is capable of. I doubt any of their training involved the black ops style that Black Spiral uses." Nyton said.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Serizawa nodded at Sora and said, "If that's your decision, we should be off then."

He turned and made his way to the exit. Upon reaching the exit, he waited for Sora so that they could return to their room together.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Precisely," Kotori nodded her approval. "I will head to the bridge and set the simulation up. Until it is ready, you can both at least think a little about how to get yourselves organized - seeing everyone except me will be involved in the scenario, you have everyone else at your disposal." The Taisa paused and then said: "That is all."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sora followed after Serizawa and then walked with her companion back to their room, taking his hand into hers as they went. She smiled softly at him when they did finally reach their new room. "Ichi-kun, what do think about this new mission? I'm kinda afraid of it being a repeat of our last Eve encounter."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"It is a possibility," Serizawa replied to his lover's question while stepping through the entrance into their quarters, "though not one I believe to be very likely. Eve's partnership with the SMX seems to have completely dissolved so she doesn't have much left in the way of hiding places. However, everyone heralds Eve as some sort of genius mastermind and, if that were true, I wouldn't be too shocked if she hadn't planned for this situation."

Serizawa wandered deeper into the room, sat down on the edge of the queen-sized bed and continued to say, "I'm no strategist but I don't think Eve has the time or resources to prepare for an attack from us. To go through all this trouble over a wormhole gate could mean that she wants to make a safe retreat. Perhaps this Amara's Gate is another distant wormhole device. Whatever the case, I think Eve is trying so hard to move forward that she's not going to be watching her back."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sora followed Serizawa to the bed, watching him as he responded. "I think with so many seasoned veterans with us, we should do better than we were before. I also think with a little luck and skill, we..won't lose anyone." She pursed her lips together for a moment before leaning down, placing her arms around the thin Yamataian's shoulders and smiled brightly as she stared down into Serizawa's dark blue eyes.

"I know you don't believe in luck but I think our numbers are looking pretty good, unfortunately, we.. don't have the time to.." She lightly pressed her lips against his, lightly kissing him before pausing long enough to finish her sentence, "...really test out this new variable for our experiments."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Serizawa had been a little surprised by Sora's sudden kiss, his eyes widening a little in confusion. It wasn't that he was trying to refuse her affections. To the contrary, nearly instantly, the scientist had become quiet receptive to Sora's advances. He just had not expected to go from a discussion about Eve and the upcoming mission to kissing without some kind of transition.

"Variable?" he murmured after the kiss had ended.

Serizawa slid an arm behind her waist and curled it around Sora so that his hand sat on top of the thigh of hers that was furthest from him. Giving her leg a squeeze, he responded in kind with his own kiss.

"Well, if you're worried about that," he began, "we could perform a quick experiment to see if we can accelerate time on a certain event to see how quickly it reaches its conclusion. I don't think we'll have enough time to unpack though so you'll have to make the call, Queen One."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"I can help," Miharu's Megami piped in the conversation. "I can have sprites on the job and have them do the unpacking for you both."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Hmm... as helpful and tempting as that is, Mara-san." Sora looked up with a light blush on her cheeks as the ship's Megami offered to help. She looked back down at Serizawa's face was a shy smile. "I think we can start those tests when there's less of a time constraint, I don't think our first day on the new ship is quite the time." She kissed him again before ruffling his spiky red hair and pulling back again.

The young Ketsurui examined the scientist's face with a thoughtful loving smile. She had not forgotten that it was after the destruction of the Sakura during the last Eve mission that they had almost lost one another. She was afraid that another encounter with Eve might make her lose Serizawa. "The new variable being away from our more open crew mates so we'll be left alone to mostly our own devices."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Roger that, Kotori-sama." Nyton acknowledged. He then turned to look at Masako. "Let's head to the simulation room now so we can get started on tactical and personnel formations." he said as he began to leave with her. Before they had gone two steps though Nyton turned his head to look back to Kotori. "Oh and don't be too hard on them. At least give them a chance to win." he said with a half smile.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

krisslanza said:
"It is no problem Suzuka-Shosa.", the normal, cheery smile flashing onto the neko's face, "I'm just glad to be here, seems I'll learn a lot and have plenty of people to become friends with."

"We all have much to learn," Yukari said with a somewhat fake smile. She did not want to appear rueful before the young crewmember. "But we will, with time and dedication. We are all friends here." She gave Yuril another small bow, then walked over to meet Tom.

"Yes, Juni-san?" she said, traces of warmth cast about the bland reply.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

As Yoroko was about ready to respond to Kai, Yoroko saw Yukari bow and walk over to Tom. "I think Yuril is available now." Yoroko said as she stood up. "What would you like to do before the simulation, from what I understand we have a little bit of time." Yoroko said.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Asher scratched the side of his jaw as he saw people dispersing. He stood, and stretched. He continued to comtemplate his non-rank promotion to second-in-command of the wing.

His head turned to Kai as the other Knight mentioned moving on to other things. With Yoroko's response, Asher broke in.

"Well!" Asher clapped his hands together and then placed on hand on Kai's shoulder, "Welcome to the Miharu, the name is Itto-Hei Asher Orkin Westwood, if you didn't already know." The Hei nodded to Kai, and then to Yoroko, flashing a grin.

"I'm pretty sure the officers are going to be busy for the short time they'll taking cranking up a sim. I believe that's enough time for you guys to find your rooms, right?" Asher said, his eyes switching inbetween him.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Serizawa had not been thrilled at all when he heard the voice of the Miharu's MEGAMI ring through the room. Although it was the disembodied voice's intent to be helpful, the offer only reminded the science specialist that MEGAMI was watching them all the time. The thought promptly drug Serizawa out of the mood.

"A rain check is fine by me," Serizawa replied to Sora. "I'm not in a great rush to test that variable."

He stood up from the bed and walked over to their luggage. He quickly opened up one of the bags at random.

"Well, we should get unpacking then," Serizawa said as he reached into the bag and pulled out one of Sora's skirts. "Well, uh, it looks like we're unpacking your things first."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sora laughed and helped Serizawa unpack their bags. "I didn't think I had this much clothing! Next leave period, we have to get you some more clothing again; as well as, some other things," she said brightly with a light blush on her cheeks.
