Nichols hadn't put any thought into whether or not Errowyn would return from her quest for a refill. This was partially due to the inexperienced pilot's exhaustion with the responsibility of flying from what felt like from one end of the known galaxy to the other. With such a twisted state of excitement about his first real assignment and being too tired to care, Nichols had propped his head up in his left hand whilst the rest of his arm kept him from slamming his face into the table. Such a fragile balance was destroyed when Nichols seemed to slip off into a brief unconsciousness and his arm relaxed and didn't bother to keep his head up any longer. The end result was the Nepsleslian pilot's head collide against the table. Nichols wasn't known for his high pain tolerance, so when pain settled in across his nose and forehead, he might've preferred it at the moment if someone had just thrown a drink in his face. The pilot picked his head back up with his left hand pressed under his nose to check if he'd hit it hard enough to cause bleeding. Thankfully this was not the case and beyond embarrassment and a headache, he assumed he'd be fine.
At this rate 'Butterfingers' will be my callsign if I can't stop screwing up royally in front of people.
A sigh escaped the pilot as he took count of the pairs of eyes that were looking his way before he leaned back in his seat with the hope if he acted like he was calm they'd find something else to joke about. Yet before he could say anything to Errowyn, the sight of the Chusa and some Neko in civilian clothing. Such a scene helped Nichols forget how embarrassed he was for the moment as he waited to see what would happen after the Chusa and whoever this new arrival was finished their conversation.
