"Perhaps for those not yet affected, Shosa," Chieko replied, "However, they don't need to worry about a healthy immune system if they're just trying to escape a glass slide. Also, if just the biological part is moving the way it does, what does that say for the ones that are possibly floating around the ship. The ones possibly crawling out of our current four patients looking for more victims.
"No, Kancho, a healthy system may be able to deal with the virus once the nanomachine parts are dead; but how many of us have healthy immune systems right now? That said, destroying that part should be our first priority while I work out how to get rid of the other half. Electrocution worked on the samples, however that would be reckless with patients."
That was about when the biologist closed her eyes a moment and took a deep breath, bracing herself against the wall a moment. She was starting to feel a little tired; but in a way she hadn't felt in a very long time.
"Shosa," she began again, "We need to do something about the machines - which may have infected everyone and everything on the ship. I'm thinking, with the engineering background you have, I you may know best direction to take with it."
Chieko then pulled a chair over to sit on as she worked to maintain her mental fortitude. This was not going to be a simple puzzle to solve, and what would work for the surfaces of the ship, may not work for the insides of crew members.
