RP: YSS Aeon [Mission 7.6] Repairs and recovery

Park

Sachi looked around at the park. "Why don't we start over there by those trees. That is where the most historic thing happened here." She lead Yoshiro along the winding path. She stopped at a patch of grass that had several dwarf fruit trees. There was a ring of flowers right behind a brass placard. It read 'On this spot Premier Ketsurui first met, Tesgi Toioky of the Poku Saeruo Degonjo. This simple event lead to the eventual treaty with Poku Saeruo Degonjo.'

"Tesgi was the first unknown alien species I ever met. The park was where he was the happiest I had seen him. It also seemed as if the plants enjoyed his being here. The gardeners said many of the plants grew much more than expected during his visit." Sachi said pointing at the spot. "Those flowers sprouted after he left. The thing is none of the gardeners planted them, and they do not match any of the others here."

Sunflower smiled, "Thank you. I have to say it is a pleasant change of pace getting to spend some time with a male. Let alone a handsome older one. I have never spent time with someone your age. You were born before the Empire even existed. That is a little hard to think about no Empire. Although by Nekovalkyrja standards I am fairly old. "

She walked over to Eiven and interlocked her arm with his. "Some food with good company sounds perfect. And I would be more than willing to teach you some steps. Only if you promise to teach me a few moves." she said with a wink.

Josea looked at the scene. Some of the people were starting to find other things to occupy them. Between security being present and his offer to repay the worst aspects were diffused. He watched as Freyja was searching and wondered if she realized how her position was showing off her butt. He thought it best to not say anything Freyja he noted was easily embarrassed. Once she stood up Josea took her stuffed animal in one hand. "I believe this is yours. He seems to have come through our collision without harm."

Josea turned to Saki, "That is not necessary Saki-san. This is no ones fault. We are dealing with a different physiology. I have seen children who eat too much of something start acting in similar fashion."

From behind the crowd a voice called out. "Make way, make way. Med Tech coming through." A soldier with a medical kit slung over his shoulder appeared. "Sorry about the delay. The Dispatcher apparently got the wrong information. I was told you were at the Aeon, not from the Aeon." He knelt down next to Kata'nova. "I've never seen a species like this before. What happened? What were her symptoms?"

Day Spa

Katae slid off her table, and wrapped one of the luxurious towels around her body. Yes, she could have done as Misaki did and make a holographic one. But it was rare that she had the opportunity to enjoy the feeling of the soft towel on her skin. She followed Misaki wondering where she was heading to. "No dinner, but I will have Eternity notify them to meet at the restaurant at the hotel tomorrow morning for breakfast. We will discuss our next steps in the search for Kata'nova's people."

She slowly reached out and took Mr. Waffles from Josea. "Thank you..." She smiled a bit brighter then normal at him as the medics finally can in. Freyja when back over again what all happened, from the icecream to the jumping to the fight. Then she pointed to Seleea and the thing on Kata'a arm. "I think that will tell you more, it's been beeping for a little bit now."

"Please get her to the infirmary..."

"Child geetin hyper-active from a lot off sugar and Kata getting aggressive are not entirely comparable thing Gustav-san," Saki replied to the man. Her eyes were set at the alien and medic that was helping her. "Besides I should still take responsibility for this. I am highest ranking member of the SAoY present after all. Kata'nova is my responsibility as is any damage she caused."

Freyja turned to Saki and spoke firmly but softly, "Not to argue with you, nor with any disrespect, but you have only just arrived, I was the highest ranking personnel here at the time this started all they way up to a few moments ago when you came up. There are a few things you might not understand going on here, but I'm the one who is responsible for what happened here, and for Kata'nova."

Freyja blushed a little realizing she was speaking of things that were, as of this morning, classified. She was a bit frightful that this situation might make her blow her cover. so much for a nice relaxing day...

"Wow, I did not know any of that. I just assumed that this was just, well, here being tended to by gardners and all. This all beautiful." Yoshiro said as he took a picture to send to his family with his PCD. "So, where to next?"

The flattery made Eiven smile, though he reigned it it enough to keep it sober. He was no stranger to such words, however it was usually the ones with those kitty ears whom would be more forward about it - like the one he was talking to now. The reminder of his age compared to the Empire managed to change his smile into more of a smirk. The doctor was already well into college when it was founded, and because of it experienced much of the history rather than needing to learn it.

The Minkan's mind nearly wandered down that path until he felt Sunflower's arm hook around his, jarring him back as much as he tried not to look it. What progress he had managed to calm himself inside was ruined; but one had to enjoy these moments, one way or another.

"And what moves, dare I ask, would that be?" Eiven responded at last with a reserved grin. He was hoping his mind was only teasing him with wild imaginings, yet worried inside that Sunflower may well be too much like her 'sisters'.

Josea let the two Nekovalkyrja have their say before he interjected. "Ladies, in this matter you are both wrong. As a member of the SSS I have the equivalent rank of Ittô Juni. Ise-Taisa has appointed me as the responsible party for Kata'nova. As the person who is the most fluent with her language I am best suited for that role. So unless you want to disturb the Taisa, this is the end of the discussion as to who is responsible. I also know that the Taisa wanted the crew to interact with Kata'nova as much as possible and introduce her to much of our culture.

Arai-Heisho, the analogy of children and sugar was just that an analogy. Kata'nova was enjoying a sundae with Oinari-Hei. We have already seen that her physiology is not as robust as our engineered bodies. A sundae has a multitude of components, there is no telling what effect a topping that to us just tastes good, could have chemical compounds that cause euphoria, or aggression. Just as some people have a higher tolerance for liquor, and some folks get mellow while others become belligerent."

He paused to look at the medic who was checking Kata'nova. Then turned back to the two Nekovalkyjra.

"So we have learned that something in the sundae or the combination there of has an adverse reaction in Neshaten physiology. Something to be mindful off when we make contact with her people. We will need to be careful with sharing food items until we know which ones they react badly to."

Park

Sachi looked around and listened to the sounds in the park. "Well, during the daylight times, the Yamataian Scissor-Tail Flycatchers, are lovely to listen to.. she said, keeping to herself that she new some of them are were actually part of the security of the park being T.O.R.I.

"Well, let's finish our walk across the park along the main path. When we reach the other end, we can head to the area with the shops." she said. "We can window shop, perhaps you can find some gifts for your family. Or we can get a bite to eat."

"Well, that depends on what you are interested in Eiven. You did say you enjoy playing cards, so you could teach me a few moves to improve my game. Or when we are dancing you can show me some of the dances from when you were growing up? As for any other moves.... well the evening is far too early to worry about them. Though you can always bring them up later." she said looking around the corridor. She sent a mental query to the Starbase's MEGAMI Ishi.

"According to Ishi, this is a nice casual restaurant that is open. The specialize in steak and other beef products. Shall we check it out?" She inquired.

Sheela let the medic get close to Kata'nova and backed away from the group. She watched and listened to what was going on. Unsure at the moment, but seeing things being handled in matters beyond her knowledge. She faded away from the scene scince she wasn't needed anymore and that Kata'nova was in good paws. She hoped that Kata'nova would be okay and fine health.

She smiled at Kata'nova's bravery and the restraint she used in subduing her without to much damage to her and the place. She moved on her way before the distraction. going to check out what had caught her interest before the altercation between her and Kata'nova.

The wristband continued to chime, as Kata'nova's body suit continued to scan the unknown substance that coursed through her bloodstream. After a few minutes, or what might've felt like a few minutes, the message that had been slowly flashing on the holograhic display changed - from blue letters, to those of a greenish color. Kata'nova began to stir, although not without some groans of pain.

Unknown Toxin catalogued, attempting to retrieve, then quartine, perhaps it was just luck that Kata'nova's nerves were a bit shot right now due to what had transpired, else she'd have felt several pricks against her skin as her suits medical systems engaged and began to syphon the unknown chemical out of her system, although it wasn't a perfect process given it wouldn't be able to take all of it out. On the monitor, her blood pressure began to return to normal, and her heart rate began to steady; although it did spike every once in awhile.

Her eyes opened, staring up at the ceiling; her mind fuzzy and she was entirely uncertain what had just happened....

Eiven was relieved that despite the Nekovalkyrja comfort with certain activities, Sunflower was at least reasonable regarding them. It wasn't that he had not met others with similar self-restraint; it just happened to be quite the roll of the dice upon meeting each one - a surprising personality diversity for a technically synthetic existence. This also, however, gave the officer cadet a further clue into who his subordinate was and more of what he can expect from her past previously displayed dedication.

"I haven't attempted to dance in quite a while; though cards may be easy enough," The doctor replied as he relaxed, "And that place sounds good. I could use something that's a little less urban."

The Medic knelt down by Kata'nova and pulled out a PMS-1 and injected the alien with the medical microbots. The blood chemistry scan showed diminishing levels of a substance that was non-harmful to most species. It also showed that the vital signs of Kata'nova were returning to something close to the base line data that the Aeon had.

"well, it would seem that whatever she ate she had a bad reaction to. But she is recovering. Probably due to the effects of her suit. I would suggest that she refrain from eating whatever she was before this episode." the medic said to the Aeon members.

Steak and More

After a pleasant walk, Eiven and Sunflower arrived at the restaurant recommended by Ishi. Sunflower took a moment to examine the menu that was on display. "Well their menu certainly looks tempting. Hopefully their cooks are equally good." She said with a smile.

Rough Bar

The corridor that caught her attention wasn't easily spotted, unless you knew of it location. She happened to see several personnel enter the dimly lit corridor. Sheela scampered over, slipping into the corridor and followed it to a small establishment that emitted both music and some announcer giving some comments on some sporting event lightyears away from the station.

What ever the name of the place was, Sheela missed it as she entered the darkened establishment to provide an intimate setting and add privacy for those that wanted to blow off steam in a more physical manner. She took in her surrounding of the abused furniture, the stale air of too many spilt drinks. The floor was sticky of both drinks and what ever liquids landed on the floor. The air had a raw stench of one too many drinks and past mayhem.

Type of place where Security and Medics often visited. Also wanting the place shut down, yet never could manage it due to the release it provided other than pleasure. Unless inflicting pain on others and receiving it yourself, intentionally or not. A Brawler's Tavern. Just by entering, you knew of the risks and dangers just by the atmosphere and the tension in the air waiting to explode.

Sheele smiled slightly as she made her way through the various patrons in various states of intoxication, towards the bar to get herself a drink. She took note of the various games of chance and the loose currency on the tables as she passed by them.

"oh squeak!" She softly emmitted, not drawing more attention than what was already directed towards her.

She took a seat at the bar, nodding to the bartender. A big four armed man with a stained, yet clean apron on approaching her. She looked over the drinks being offered, before making her choice. Something she could handle, while not looking like a wimp amongst the more hardcore drinkers.

Saki sighed, deciding to no argue with others on who had what responsibilty and whatever. She was supposed to relax after all. Since Kata was with the other Neko, Saki figured that she was not needed all that much.

"Gustav-san?" Saki turned to Josea. "Seems like this is handled, how about we go for a drink somewhere. I could use a whiff of something alcoholic. We are supposed to enjoy this time off after all."

Steak and More

Eiven didn't take long to have a look as well and nodded at the selection, soon recognizing his favourite cut - the well marbled rib-eye. Soon after his transfer to a 22C body, he had eaten as many as he could, relishing the twinge of guilt as his old teaching reminded him of how unhealthy all that fat was, while also smiling at the fact that it no longer mattered. Those days were long behind him however, and now it was back to being the treat that it was - no longer a passive aggressive rebellion against the medical professional's better judgment.

"It's usually difficult to run a proper grill in a controlled environment like this," Eiven replied, "It taxes the life support and sets off smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. That said, it kind of spoils you when your father grills meat from the livestock your uncle slaughtered thirty days ago and had been freshly butchered by your cousin that morning."

That reminded him of another benefit he had come across upon upgrading to a digital brain. Lessons his father had given him as a teenager were re-discovered, though he rarely managed the time to practice. The Minkan sighed lightly as a few of the old images came up and a tear managed to escape before he could catch it, despite the smile on his face.

Josea looked around seeing that the situation was well and truly defused. The medics had the situation taken care of, or at least were monitoring Kata'nova's recovery.

With a wan smile he looked at Saki, "Unfortunately Saki-san, I think I will have to ask for a rain check on the drink. Freyja-san and I have some things to discuss."

Steak and More

Sunflower perused the menu and settled on an eight once sirloin, a baked apple with cinnamon with a house salad. She listened to Eiven as he extolled the complexity of grilling. The concept of raising animals to then consume was novel to her. "So your family raised live stock and some butchered the form market. So how did you choose to be a Doctor? Why not go into the family business?"

Freyja was about to escort the kit back to the Aeon, to be left in the ward of the ship's medic. She figured she would have to update her report on Kata'nova and her people. Ice cream sundaes make this psychotically violent, and causes them to act out of the normal perimeters.

She was a bit upset that Saki asked Josea out for a drink. She let her shoulders drop and let a little sigh before letting that little spark of hope fizzle. She figured it was all the same, with all the lies she had to keep with here post. Wouldn't have been fair.

Then Josea spoke up. Freyja looked back at him wide eyed, wondering what kink of trouble this had all caused for her. did he know her real job aboard? Was she going to be put on detail for screwing up with Kata?

Yoshiro was thinking about what to do next when his stomach decided for him. With a growl that sounded appropriate for angry puppy, he decided that food was a priority. "Sachi, do you know a good place to eat?" Yoshiro asked with a slight blush on his face.

Sachi thought for a moment, "Well most of the places are good. Its more a matter of what are you in the mood for? The Kyoten is home base for our entire squadron, so they have lots of choices to keep people happy. There is quick and easy food like ramen and tempura, there is a seafood place, and a steak place."

Kata'nova waited until the sensation fled her mind, releaving her body of the feeling of being in a kind of euphoria. She felt something on her arm but didn't seem to care one bit, although listening to the medic she was able to understand him at least a little bit - enough to get a basic grasp of what he had said. Although she still wouldn't be able to put thier language into words just yet, perhaps in the future she would and wouldn't have to rely on the auto-translator.

After a few moments she slowly stood up, letting herself relax a bit before going fully up and then looked at the people around; it had dawned on her what had happened, while she probably didn't know 'what' had caused it due still had the memory of having a kind of brawl and it wasn't the kind that would be acceptable in her culture - it was a bit of an embarassment and it showed on her face as she turned away from the on-lookers.. think in the future I'll be more careful, that food was rather tasty though...

She then looked at Freyja, with a cat-like smile on her face and wondered what the soldier was thinking.

Yoshiro thought for a moment and decided. "I got to try the steakhouse. Never did go out to eat when Iwas a child." Yoshiro said. He smiled at Sachi and offered his arm to her. "Shall we go, milady?" He asked.
