Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

While Sune was making his way to the cargo bay, his ICP chimed and he looked at the update on the order he had submitted. Damn, Logistics must be really messed up. Five minutes ago Logistics said the order was good to go, now they are saying unavailable. Well, I guess we can try doing this old school. He thought, altering his course to the fabrication area. Once in the room, he walked over to the equipment. “Charisma since Elysia is part of Yamatai please access Elysian records for uniforms.” He then picked up the intercom handset and punched in the bridge. "Jalen-Heisho to Bridge, Logistics apparently is having issues, the order that I had submitted was just cancelled."

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

"No.. no.. that's ok" Tasuku said quickly, "I know her.. I'd much rather you do it." Tasuku replied uneasily, not elaborating, but it was becoming obvious that some combination of the medbay and medical staff made him rather tense.

"I'm sure you can do it, or else you wouldn't be on this ship",

I'd better learn to trust her,
Tasuku thought, ...she might be the one to save my life sometime. She doesn't seem too bad anyway, for a doctor at least.., he thought looking at the child-like medic, deciding he could accept her as he took a deep breath and tried to relax a little.

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

"Thank you, Yarani-Hei.....Umm, you're not scared of doctor's visits, are you? You always seem a little tense around medical staff and such. Well, I'm just glad you're trusting me on this.....It makes me so happy that you believe in me. Here now, just take a deep breath, relax here, and the machine will do the rest....As I said, you may feel some slight dsicomfort." said Konoka, starting the machine in it's process.

Konoka knew she was a good medic, but she wanted the crew to believe it , too. She liked her job because it made her happy to help others, and she hoped others would be happy with her, too. Sometimes, she realized, she'd find people who were a little nervous or tense about it all. But, after all, she'd just have to make them feel better! It would make her feel better, too. Hadn't she said so long ago, after all: If you smile, others will smile and be happy, too?

Thinking on that, she let the machine begin it's work.

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

"Ah, the First Officer should be able to assign you a room when she gets a chance. Normally you can just text for these sort of things when she's stuck on the bridge, though," Hanako told Mikael. "Also, sorry to keep you waiting, I was distracted."

With that, Hanako went to the medical lab and waited in line for her mental backup. While she stood there, she sent a message to Ramiro. "You are cleared for launch. Take us to Veritas."

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

Ramiro sat and watched people slowly exit the bridge. Not knowing if he should go get his lunch and backup first or wait for orders he figured the 1st optioned seemed okay as others were doing it as well. Just as he started to stand up to excuse himself from the bridge his console beeped at him. He quickly and reflexively launched back into his seat which he spun around to face the screen. Once Ramiro finished reading the message he called back to the Chusa, "Authorization for launch granted from the Taisa," just in case the Chusa didn't know the Taisa had granted launch, and than set the ship to liftoff and carefully steered that ship out far enough out of the system to activate the hyperspace drives. "Irenika-Hei, could you please clear our departure with the Yamatai Defensive Network, we don't want them blowing us out of space because they freaked because they didn't know we were leaving."

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

"I'm not a big fan doctors appointments really.." Tasuku replied. He tried to close his eyes and relax as best he could through the unpleasnt procedure, it felt a bit worse than his first one he had about three years ago, he read somewhere that the longer someone has been alive and the more eventful that life, the more unpleasent the backup could be, he believed it now.

While the backup proceed as normal, was giving him a terrible headache.

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

”Endoh-hei, I was hoping to visit medical and get a mental back up done before we depart. Are you in Engineering at the moment? More specifically, could you take Engineering while I'm absent for a moment?”
Kumiko stifled a slight yawn. Getting used to being back on day shift was almost as hard as switching to the night shift on purpose. However, she was, in fact, there, and ready.
"Yes ma'am, I'm here. I can take over anytime you need me to.How long would you need to be out do you believe?"
She quickly tapped several keys, and brought up the ship's info on her screens. She poked her head out from the corner she was in, glancing around to see if she could spot Junko.

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

Sune was working on a selection of likely Elysian garments that the away team would require. Fortunately all members of the Elysian Celestial Army wore the same style jumpsuit. He ensured to account for any rank and gender specific accoutrement details. He then pulled up some of their basic cultural data. The Nekovalkyrja on the away teams will have to conceal their ears using their holographic ability and any definitively Valkyrja hair colorations.. He thought. Sune quickly eliminated the idea of passing off the members of the away teams as Patricians, the size difference was too great, and given their status, a strange group of the upper class would stand out. Comparing the Plebeians and Caelisolans he realized that the Caelisolans would be more advantageous. Being a more trusted and respected class than the Plebeians.

During a review of the cultural information he realized that he needed to address a more critical physiological factor. Elysian had wings, and the wings were used in their form of salute. This represents an unforeseen challenge. I am reasonably sure I can use the medical data to create realistic looking wings, but they need to move. I will need to contact one of the engineers to help with making them move. He fabricated a basic synthetic skeletal structure for an Elysian wing, that should help the engineers.

He took a moment to upload the details he had worked out for the disguises to present to which ever of the officers he encountered first. He then transferred his analysis of the Nataria incident to a second pad that he would present to Hanako. “Charisma please inform Takeda-Heisho that I need to meet with her regarding a matter dealing with our current mission that requires assistance from engineering.” Sune then picked up his ICP and the two datapads, his first stop was to medical to update his mental backup.

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

Junko waved Endoh over from the corner, once she spotted the head peeking out. "I'm just a Heisho. 'Ma'am' isn't necessary," she said once Endoh drew closer. "I intend only to be gone long enough for the back up procedure. If you wish to get a back up or lunch I will be back to take over Engineering. Comm me if anything comes up." With that she briskly exited the Mainspace. Mere seconds later, a telepathic communication flickered in from Charisma. "Takeda-Heisho, please see Jalen-Heisho about Engineering's assistance with a mission related matter. Jalen-Heisho is currently proceeding to the Medical Bay." Junko only paused for a moment before continuing on her way. She had no problem with providing assistance but if the project took any time at all she would have to bring it back to Engineering if Endoh needed relief. Still considering possibilities, she slipped through the hatch and into Medical.

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

After "saving her game" at the mental backup station, Hanako returned to the bridge. Seeing they weren't moving yet, she sent the necessary messages and had Eucharis (disguised as an Elysian cargo ship named ECS Gift) began her 25 minute hyperspace trip to Veritas.

She had a creepy feeling that NMX ships were right behind them.

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

Sending Yarani on his way and procuring a lollipop to make him feel better, Konoka sighed, hoping this next mission wouldn't lead to a repeat episode of stumbling through bringing someone back through Soul Transfer technology, as she had on her first day. Well, thought Konoka, I've grown up since then. And you always do something better the second time, right? She tried not to think about it, humming through her usual pre-mission worry for the crew. Once again, someone might get hurt.

Shouldn't she be used to it by now?

Spotting Sune, she exclaimed, "Jalen-Heisho!" and rushed forwards to try and help him, smiling. She hadn't seen him since he'd left Medical. "Here for a backup? Come on, you remember how we do this. Liking your new job? I missed seeing you....Ah, machine's over here....But you know that."

Then she noticed Takeda-Heisho standing there. Gosh, they were coming out of the woodwork. But of course, it wasn't just Konoka who was a little worried anymore. People were starting to figure out that they needed backups more than ever....including Konoka. At least, she figured that was why Junko was here. Konoka really never liked chaotic masses of people hanging around her workspace.

"Hi, Takeda-Heisho.....Here for a backup? Or have I seen you already......"

Konoka smiled and make a small, jerky half-bow, half-nod in Junko's direction.

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

"Thank you, Ramiro-hei. We were just repaired, everything is still running to spec?" Misaki asked, then decided before hearing an answer. "Execute more checks on any systems that help us to remain less easily detected. The 'mish are getting better at it and I don't want to wake up finding out we forgot something vital." The XO explained, tapping her finger idly at the console that displayed the status of the Eucharis for her. Something was going to happen, it stood to chance there was a reason the Eucharis was sent, and that it was not to impress the foreign diplomats. They expected them to come into contact with the Mishhu, or there was some problem in sending SAINT and not a regular SAoY vessel through the breach.

Well, I should get another backup after all. It's not bad luck according to Ku-chan unless we do it more than five times a month...or..was it four? Mused the officer, who relied primarily on SPINE to interface with her computer-like mind.

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

Sune smiled at Konoka's greeting. "Hello Miyazawa-Hei. Yes, I figure it would be a good time to get my backup updated. As for the new job, I will just say that it has not been dull. Besides you must be happy to have medical all to yourself, well perhaps not at the moment." He walked over to the unit and laid down. "Ready when you are." He said as he looked into the Synaptic Interface Unit.

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

Kumiko nodded, and assumed control as Junko left the engineering bay. First time I've ever been reprimanded for being too formal, she thought. However, she continued about her work, still adjusting her assessments to the normal daytime power usage instead of the slower nighttime usage.

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

Now that the ship was moving and on its way he stood up, bowed to the Taisa before saying, "Taisa, if you have nothing else for me I will head down to Medical for my backup. Also, if you don't mind at all, on the way back I'd like to take a quick 5 minute detour for a personal reason. There's someone I haven't seen in quite a while." Ramiro was hopeful that the Taisa would catch his drift and let him have those 5 minutes for some personal time, but he wasn't sure if she would since he was on duty.

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

"Very well," Hanako said to Ramiro.

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

"I will get on that right away ma'am, my apologies for disturbing you." Mikael said as he gave the proper bow and went in the opposite direction. He rounded a corner before he stopped and begun messing around with the communicator on his wrist.

Mikael typed up and sent to Misaki, convinced it wasn't too informal for such a simple request.
Harris-hei here ma'am, which cabin have I been assigned to?

Sighing to himself, he proceeded to head to the Medical bay and see how his new "friend" was doing. Once he arrived there, he peeked his head though the door. "Looking busy I see Miyazawa-Hei." he spoke.

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

"Awrighty, let's get started." said Konoka, prepping the machine. "I hope your new job turns out to bring you happiness in the end.....Medical's just been ah, busy. Ah, here we go......"

The machine went to work. Seeing as how Sune used to be a medic, she didn't feel the need to remind him of the slight discomfort associated with the technology. He knew that. She now realized, though, how useful it was to have an extra set of hands during the endless pile-up of backups. She'd resented it, being proud of her work, but now she realized just how talented Sune was. He HAD been promoted. Highly. A fact that did not go unnnoticed by his more immature but quite capable former partner.

Konoka sighed, thinking of how sometimes it was preferrable to be all grown-up like him. Maybe then she wouldn't worry herself sick that one of the crew might get hurt.

Yeah, they probably would. Konoka truly hoped she wasn't right again.

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

Just before the backup began Sune sent the following message to Darnell via Charisma
Carlisle-Hei
Be sure to disable any sensors that will give away our identity before we cross into Elysian space. Our tactical sensors would not be appropriate for a freighter, and modulate our other sensors to match Elysian sensor systems.

Once I talk with engineering I will need your presence in the fabrication area.
Jalen-Heisho.

The sensation of the backup was as expected. Slightly discomforting, but nothing he had not undergone before. Once the process was completed and the visor moved away he sat up. "Thank you Miyazawa-Hei" He said with a slight nod, "I appears you have your hands full so I will not take anymore of your valuable time."

Re: [Mission 8.1] Universe at War - Rescue At Veritas

"Thank you Taisa," Ramiro said as he bowed and went on his way. He excused himself and then walked over to Medical where he saw what looked like a small line. He walked over to where Konoka was and said, "I'm here for a backup Miyazawa-Hei, but it looks like you have a lot of people at the moment, should I return at a later time or just wait here?
