Osaka's doodling

OsakanOne here. The better stuff of my journey to artistic enlightenment ends up here. At this point, it's mostly just experimentation...

Re: Osaka's nonsense: Now with 3D Sculpting!

Yeah.

I need a palette to experiment with... A range of things from slim ultra-humanoid looking things to "he looks made out of mechano" or chunky "it has arms and legs and a head so it looks like a person" things.

But for the moment, I'm hurting badly for internal bits to bulk the thing up. I'm going to learn how to create pipes and cables and look up some visuals for things like fighter-jet engines and mcguffins like that for a general look.

Re: Osaka's nonsense: Now with 3D Sculpting!

Added in critical systems so I can get a sense of volume for things.

Reactor, projectors, thrusters, computational housing, kinetic motivators, critical frame parts, spine, plugs.

From this, I'll be turning that into a wire-frame and I'll model the body-panel "aware" of what's inside so I can create my proportions based arising needs.

Re: Osaka's nonsense: Now with 3D Sculpting!

Huh. Didn't think I could paint.

Looks like if I forget to dick with line tools, I compensate with color.
Neato.

(Yes, THIS is Ao)

Edit:
With lines nao.

Re: Osaka's nonsense: Now with 3D Sculpting!

Osaka, you are on your way to Iron Man-level mecha detail in the visual development of your mech from the inside out. You have my respect for that. It's really neat seeing your progress on creating it too.

Re: Osaka's nonsense: Now with 3D Sculpting!

Means a lot to me. I really look up to the guys who did that.
Really amazing stuff.

Re: Osaka's thread: Love of photoshop renewed with CS4!

On reviewing Syd Mead Class 1, section 2, seems I can't "sort out" what I want in my head out of this thing.

It fluctuates wildly and I need to make some big decisions here - I've been far too lazy..

My first step, examine some people and find what proportions I like best and really explore them to produce something with as little practicality as possible.

I've got no idea what I'm looking at here but it's going to be the basis of whatever the hell I do next.

Interesting updates, Osaka.

By the way, the Naked Snake/Big Boss avatar is EPIC WIN.

Mentally blocked.

Chucked up a mock for Five to explain something.

...if your idea of sexy includes dual eight-barrel chainguns and a couple trucks' worth of rockets and missiles.

WHICH IT DOES! : D

Looks cool, Osakan ^_^

It fits my motto for the SMoDIN quite well:

"Nepleslian Weapons: when it needs to be totally and absolutely dead."

Re: Osaka's art (be sure to check latest page - regular updates)

So yeah. I basically need to decide where a few systems go and add the body-work but the skeleton is here and everything is to scale.

Just imagine. GUNS BIGGER THAN SURFBOARDS.

S U R F B O A R D S .

Does anything look out of place?

Comment pleez.

Re: Osaka's art (be sure to check latest page - regular updates)

I've been busy with other things but this is at least a start. All I need to do is detail it and apply the hands and this is probably one of the harder parts of the whole thing done.
