RP: YSS Hana [YSS Hana] Mission Two: No More Worlds to Conquer

YSS Hana
Wardroom

Hasewega let Kamikaze finish talking before speaking up. "Is there anything else you wish for us to do, Taii?" The realization that this might have killed the mood for the party just dawned on her, but the issue seemed a bit more pressing than allowing the crew to slack their table manners.

"Cya Lucas!" The Iroma waved a little as he watched the logistics priest head off to a corner of the wardroom. "Well, that went rather well. He's not my speed, but he's a awesome friend to have, I think."

Latch mused to himself, and shrugged. Nothing much else for him to do, except either wait on dessert or go to the bridge. Really though, dessert must come first if it's going to be available. He put his hands in his pockets, found a wall to lean on, and went on to brood.

Well, it looked nothing like brooding, nor was it even brooding at all; Latch was just daydreaming.

Junko had ceased wiping at Juno and was now listening intently to the captain's conversation and said in a low voice to Juno, "How much do you know about neutrino emissions?"

Aratani said, "Me? Well, I download manuals, which is sort of close... Sort of, right?" She gave a wide, pearly grin, pale like her flesh and paler than her silvery hair. She added, "I could see myself reading the manga about the samurai." It was no secret she adored the resident samurai, rarely seen lately, Tokuko.

"We're not in any known space lanes and we're the forward-most scout ship of the fleet. I don't think we're interfering with our own vessels' transmissions right now. I want you three to look into this more," the captain said, looking to the scientist and two SAINT operatives.

Looking around her, she noticed plates were being cleared and floors were mopped. She made sure her own plate was cleaned and stashed, though had not had a chance to eat much at all. She looked towards the galley, then the brooding Iromakuanhe, then to the women working on the neutrino puzzle, then back to the galley expectantly.

Sakura had immediately busied herself with finishing the desserts upon entering the galley and as a result was dressed with an apron still stained with taco sauce she'd used previously as she carefully constructed the frosted treats. The neko looked up both times when Sassa entered and noticed she had taken and then sometime later, replaced, the cleaning equipment. "Wonder if that was my mess, just another person I owe an apology and a favour, wonder how many more I'll wrack up tonight." The grey skinned neko spoke to herself in annoyance as she finished the final dish.

Moving out with a serving tray easily balanced on each hand the cook made her way round to all the crew members still inside the wardroom and just outside of it before placing the tray of extras on the middle dining table. "Well I hope you all enjoy these, I only have one each this time I'm afraid due to time constraints but next time I'll be sure to have more for those who want it." Sakura spoke proudly when every one had been distributed before disappearing back into the galley with the dishes of the main course to wash up.

Juno sighed and gave up on cleaning her uniform, it was cleaned off to the best of her ability but that wasn't good enough to prevent a change of clothes from being the first thing on her list for once dinner had finished. "Neutrino emissions you say?" the engineer queried, crossing one arm across her chest and balling her other hand under her chin quizzically, "I know a bit, tau and muon and all that jazz but I'm no scientist or anything, why do you ask?" she asked Junko before picking up a bowl of ice cream.

"Sorry about all the mess but damn, you can make some tasty food" Juno complimented the retreating chef before plunging a spoon into the bowl of icy goodness.

Zoeichi glanced at Sassa and nodded. "Glad to hear," she offered with a faint smile. A hand moving up to squeeze her shoulder. "Patrolling left me with bitter little time to do much of anything," she defended herself with a faint chuckle.

Leaning back in her seat with her hand dropping from Sassa's shoulder, Zoe briefly closed her eyes again. Before white eyelashes blinked open at the rustling and crashing of two bodies. Her ears, traditionally drooped down, twitched upwards at the distinct sound, causing her to turn in her seat slightly. Before glancing at Sassa, who was frowning and distinctly annoyed all of a sudden. She got up, only to return with a cleaning solution. While Zoeichi was more of the opinion this wasn't her, nor Sassa's mess to clean, she also realized the cook had her work cut out for her. She glanced over to the grey-skinned nekovalkyrja in question, who hurried away. Then at the iroma logistics worker, nodding momentarily before her gaze returned back to Sassa. Who joined her again after having cleaned up. She wasn't all too pleased by Sassa offering to do so, she wasn't janitorial staff. Though her face did betray little to nothing of this sentiment. And she mentally shrugged it off.

It wasn't up to her to dictate what Sassa did.

However, her initial remark when she came to sit beside Zoeichi, put the silver haired elf off. "We should wait untill Kaze-taii gives the command," her hand moved to her side. She gave Sassa a gentle, reassuring smile even. But she seemed ready to jump into action at just a moment's notice. It wasn't a second before Zoeichi pushed herself up. Putting a soft hand on Sassa's shoulder. "I will speak to Kamikaze-taii," she said with her hand brushing off the Nekovalkyrja's shoulder. And with steady, great strides, she moved out towards her CO. "Kamikaze-taii," she announced her presence, inclining her head respectfully, before nodding at the others present as well. "Is there a situation developing?" Her left ear twitched as she posed the question. Somewhere, she was uncertain it was proper form. And whether this paranoia was to blame on a lack of sleep, tiring rounds in her Mindy or a combination of the two remained a mystery. She glanced at the cook as she was given her own bowl of ice cream and offered up a gentle smile. "Thank you. And also, thanks for the amazing food," came in a hushed murmur.

Still not used to the grey panel of starship operations, it did still grant her the same benefit of being an IT specialist, space and silence. But that would be interrupted when the ship's MEGAMI would chime in and relay the captain's request for a heavy neutrino scan. She just looked up at the general direction of the computer generated voice and raise an eyebrow.

"Why would the captain be interested in neutrinos?" She muttered to herself and the computer. "They are common enough, but eh."

She would connect to personally to the ship's Ks-MIES-E3014 suite and commence the scan.

The tachyon emissions were the first to come back with varied results on the sensors operator's console. There were objects that were certainly moving, according to the scans. Electromagnetic and weak forces were picked up by the unified field mass and energy sensors like ripples in a lake, showing that there was a trajectory towards Hana's future position if they continued along the same line, which was approximately twenty five seconds away. The heavy neutrino scan and others, though, showed nothing or were inconclusive.

The captain responded kindly to the Elf, "I will wait for the team's or the sensors operator's observations before jumping to conclusions. We have been at a readiness condition that has strained us all."

Oliver laughed as the Neko mentioned that reads manuals, a rather boring read to Oliver, with all his experience in medical manuals. "While manuals may be informative, in my opinion they hardly count as entertaining." He said to Aratani, handing her the tablet with an excerpt of a large, extremely detailed space battle. There were over one hundred Yamataiin ships battling these new enemies, and the Yamataiin ships were being melted to slag at an alarming rate, while the enemies hadn't even suffered a scratch. There were four enemy ships, showing their sheer firepower. According to the book, apparently the Yamataiin ships had to retreat after losing over 3/4 of their fleet, while the enemies only suffered minor damages to two ships. This was all in a book, of course, and never actually happened, but if the Neko had a powerful enough imagination she could probably picture the entire battle in her head as the Minkan did.

"While you read that, I'm going to grab some water." He said, leaving his seat as she read, returning a few seconds after she had read it with a large glass of water.

Once Sakura passed about everyone's ice cream, including the brooding Gaillard, the first thing he did was go straight to the dining table to grab a spoon. Latch dug right into the simple dish, enjoying it for all of its succulent, sweet, and simple glory. He definitely heard of ice cream, but he never got to actually try it before since his grandfather was too stubborn to change lactose intolerance. As much as he wanted to thank Sakura, well, he had to head back to the bridge after he finished this delishous desert. It wouldn't be in his place to help a cook out with kitchen duties.

Then again, she's probably feeling guilty about it, judging from her eagerness to please everyone after that unfortunate collision with the priest. Latch, going off of the feeling of that she would probably appreciate the help, decided to into the galley to help the Neko, his half-finished dessert in one hand.

"Hey chef, you need any help back there?" He peeked his head around the corner to the gray-skinned Neko.

Hasewega gave a nod as she received her orders. "As you wish Kamikaze-taii. We will report back to you when we have more intel." She turned her attention and gestured over to Sakaki and Aradia. "Sakaki-hei, take us to the hall where to received the readings." there was a breif pause as the SACOS gave her the other Santô Hei's name. "Aradia-hei, you are with us."

Stein stopped to listen to the report, and the response of the CO. Though all of it was far over his head. The soldier knew only the ways of war, so he'd leave this conundrum for the navy personnel. "If anyone needs me, I will be in the armory" The man said, waving dismissively as he continued down the hallway.

As he reached the armory, he pulled his scout cannon out and began to disassemble it once more. Cleaning each piece methodically as he went.

And just when dessert was coming out, too... Aradia sighed as she stood, up, carrying her bowl of deliciousness with her as she handed the bracelet back. Scooping some spoonfuls speedily into her mouth, the colorful Elysian then set the bowl back down onto the table. "Alright, then. I will retrieve my scanner in case it is needed." Her words were pretty direct in response to Hasewega; the bright-winged woman almost skipped out of the Wardroom, then down the hall towards the medical bay.

Returning to the gathered group about ten seconds later, scanner booting up in her hands, Sivins-Hei nodded quickly. "Let us see what can be known here..."

"Thank you. Now..." Waving her scanner around almost idly, the Elysian's eyes darted about coolly. "What could have caused that... it was too refined and brief to be a natural occurrence... After all, it wouldn't have been picked up if it was only a handful of stray radiation."

Sakura had heard the various compliments as she retreated to the one place she had real control in out of the whole ship and to know people were enjoying the food was a good thing in her books. Of course she'd heard the whole, "don't insult the cook lest they spit in your food" and hoped they weren't just saying nice things to avoid that impossible outcome, why would she ever spit in someones food?

As her own anxiety on the matter rose the dish she was washing got scrubbed within an inch of its life before the unexpected appearance of Latch startled her, so much that she threw the plate at him with a startled gasp. "Aaah who when what... Oh it's just you, Latch wasn't it? Sorry for the plate I was just deep in thought and you sort of startled me." Although she appeared aid back about the whole incident she was inwardly administering a lethal dose of sarcastic self loathe for her appalling behavior so far.

"Huh...nothing on the heavy neutrino scan. But it looks like we are about to cross a tachyon stream. I would recommend to the capatain a change in course. Otherwise we will cross the stream in 24 seconds."

Tomomi says, speaking to the ship's MEGAMI. She relays the sensed path of the emission to it. Then she starts looking in the most passive way possible the source of the emissions. No point in advertising their presence even if they are not hiding.

"YIKE!" Latch bobbed out of the way, unfortunately unable to catch the plate as it crashed onto the floor and splintering into pieces. He looked between her and the shattered plate, and merely nodded. "Yeah... I think I noticed."

The pilot looked about the galley, spotted cleaning supplies, and went to clean up the mess. "I came here thinking you could use some help cleaning up these dishes, not pick up after broken ones. I mean, you're serving to at least eight different people at once, cooking the food, cleaning the dishes, cleaning the kitchenware. I mean, I did this kind of thing a lot back home, so I'd thought I'd help your nerves a bit!"

He stood up straight again, looked down at the pieces of glass, then looked back at the gray-skinned cook with red-and-black eyes. "I mean, I at least helped with one of those things. Didn't actually help clean anything yet, except for the floor just now. I mean, if you need help cleaning, my offer's still up regardless of how many dishes you're going to throw at my head first!"

Latch went over to the garbage can to dump all the glass pieces in the dustpan that he collected.
