RP: YSS Hana [YSS Hana] Mission Two: No More Worlds to Conquer

Bellflower, the MEGAMI, told the captain privately, "Our sensors operator believes a change of course is necessary."

The captain said in an easily hearable voice, "I will be on the bridge." She peeked her head into the galley, "Gaillard-hei, I need you with me. Awesome meal, Sakura-chan." The last part was coupled with a wink and smile before she looked seriously to Latch Gaillard.

"Whoops, curtain call for me, then!" Latch puts away the cleaning supplies. "Sorry Sakura-hei, guess you're on your own then!"

The Iroma takes the half-finished desert, and heads to the bridge at the command (and pretty serious stare) of his captain. He wondered if this means they're going anywhere, or Kamikaze actually has a party going on in the brig. The latter seemed really fishy.

Sakura was about to reply that some help would be much appreciated although he didn't have to when the decision was made for him, the neko awkwardly closed her mouth and just smiled stupidly at the comment about her food once again being inwardly sarcastic about getting her hopes up. "What? Were you actually expecting you'd get to talk to someone and they'd help you as an added bonus? You daft girl." It spoke to her as she returned to her cleaning.

Not the person to leave a mess in her work space she abandoned the dishes for a moment to finish cleaning up the plate from where Latch had left off, putting the remains into the appropriate disposal container for later. "So now what, back to dishes or are you going to throw another plate around and clean that one too." More than a little annoyed at herself, and thankfully now alone Sakura assumed a cold looking expression of almost boredom as she worked.

Lucas finished his work for the day with one last stoke of the stylus, proud to have finished in record time. He had gotten over being flustered for the most part. He knew he needed to be on the bridge soon, but seeing as he was skipping desert,, he figured he had a little time. Still feeling bad about earlier, Lucas decided he should make it up to Sakura. Clipping the bad to his belt, he headed back towards the kitchen and stepped in.

"Hello? Miss Sakura, I feel bad about earlier and was wondering if I could make it up to you with some assistance cleaning, or something."

Aradia sniffled, the filtered and recycled air of the Hana flooding her lungs. Her scanner beeped negatively, still unable to find energy that simply didn't exist. Not even some passing residual effects either, almost like a phantom signal, a glitch. But... A bracelet and Megami having the exact same error at the exact same time? Statistically impossible!

Scratching the top of her little head, the redheaded lady looked around her awkwardly. "Well, ah... it seems to be gone now? I wish I had more information, even another concrete datapoint would help..."

Hasewega thought for a moment on the strange anomaly before speaking. Details were scarce, but the answer had to be somewhere. "Bellflower, can you send us the celestial coordinate's of where we picked up the emissions? I would like to some do some cross referencing with maps in a bit."

"This sector was previously mapped by my systems on my previous mission. I am picking up that we were 30 LY from a system we labeled A-12 to our port-side, 20 LY from A-13 to our starboard-side, and 10 LY from a system directly ahead of us labeled A-14. Nepleslia has designated the Elefirn home-system as Adir, which is 34 LY from our position. Sending this information along with mapping to the captain, sensors operator, and yourself now, Hasewega-heisho."

Bridge

Kamikaze was soon on the bridge and had her hand on the sensors operator's shoulder, "What about tachyon emissions?"

If Latch would have to be honest, he wished he had at least a couple of minutes to help Sakura wash those dishes. Aw well, bygones are bygones, he'll just make her life a little easier another day.

He took a scoop of simple, sweet ice cream he still his hand, and ate it as he walked about. "What's this about emissions? Something isn't going horribly wrong already, right?"

"Also, this ice cream is literally simply delicious. I can't believe I missed out on this when I was a kid."

Just as she'd managed to get into her rhythm and was humming a soft tune to herself another horned man appeared giving her another shock although not as bad as when she'd been in deep concentration, "Oh hi." Sakura responded jumping a little at yet another unexpected manifestation of a crew mate, however she controlled herself enough not to fling the super shark knife she'd been cleaning at the poor man. Noticing his face properly she gasped as she realised this was the guy she'd crashed into before, "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry about earlier I just was not paying attention. If anyone should be helping the other I should help you to pay you back from that, I still feel bad, you weren't hurt were you?"

The grey skinned neko spoke at a rapid pace with her arms seeming to lose interest in dishes and just flop around badly illustrating her point, before she collected herself with a deep breath. "Ok so let me get this straight, after I knocked you over, you fell the need to repay me? It's not like that benefited you in any w-" Sakura stopped as her thoughts drifted back to the encounter, and how their positioning had played out before her usual dark skin seemed to warm up as it turned red. "Oh look, the dolt finally got it, bravo miss cook you really have a way with men don't you."

The pause was very noticeable and he had a good idea on the reason, but replied as if he hadn't noticed. So with his best reassuring expression he continued.

"Oh no, if I had been paying attention, I could have caught ma'am. So therefore I believe it to be my fault. If I had been more aware, I could have prevent it. Please forgive me dear lady, let me make it up to you.", Lucas gave his apology ending in a bow as he asked to help once more.

Junko put her hand on a napkin absent-mindedly and began wiping at Juno's abdomen again while she looked in the direction of the captain's disappearing form.

She said, "I think neutrinos can mean we're not alone, anymore."

"We'll be needing to get out of here, Santô Hei! And fast," the captain said, holding on to her armrest for what was to come.

Juno cleared her throat and her cheeks reddened further when her fellow engineer began gently patting her abdomen, to be fair Junko was pretty cute and since getting on the ship Juno hadn't had much intimate physical intera-

She stopped that train of thought, it would be unprofessional and there was such a gap in ranks between herself being a fresh-faced Santo Hei and her superior being an Itto Heisho so it'd never work, Juno spoke yet she made no effort to stop Junko's touchy feely ways "Well... let's make sure we are ready for whatever might come our way then, best we be careful" she replied, giving a weak smile with one hand feigning relaxedness behind her neck to offset her burning cheeks and flustered state.

"Wait what we need to go!?" Latch exclaimed something in Iromakuanhe, and rushed to the Starship Operations desk. He sits in, and his spinal ports to connect with the SPINE interface in the chair. His mind and soul are one with the scout ship; the thrum of the engines matched his heart, the chill of space graced his skin, and chances are he might just be imagining things, since piloting one of these ships by thought does not bring about as many sensations as piloting his home ship.

Then again, who cares, Latch needs to be in the zone now! Latch doesn't even know why, but if Hikaru-taii is sounding this worried, then he won't even stop to ask.

"Engaging engines, full throttle!" The YSS Hana lurched and blasted forward, putting everything it had into accelerating to its top speed as fast as this ship can go.

The Iroma pilot's eyes stared intently at his displays; one may never know if danger is around the corner.

As Aratani read the excerpt of the book, Oliver sipped at his water, which was now half-drank. He began to notice a bit more commotion, and could have sworn he heard the words "neutrino emissions". Neutrino emissions, huh? Those were from communications transmissions, right? Some medical equipment gave off faint neutrino emissions when used, but to his knowledge none of the equipment in the med-bay was active. He decided to dismiss it for now. If they were under attack he figured the conditions would have shifted and the battle alarms would have gone off, not to mention the telltale signs of a fight underway. His attention shifted back to Aratani and her reading of his tablet. A slight grin formed on the Minkan's face as she scrolled and read past the excerpt he had shown her. "Are you enjoying the book?" He asked with a hopeful tone. Maybe she would like sci-fi and he could have someone to talk about the series with.

"If you want I can-" He was cut off by the ship lurching forward as the engines shifted into maximum, increasing the gravitational forces as things began to shift before the dampeners caught up and the gravity generators compensated. "The hell was that?" He asked. His adrenaline levels began to elevate and his blood began to pump a bit faster. What could possibly be out here?!

“Okay, let me know what the captain says.” Sassa responded, her eyes tracking Zoeichi’s long-legged form as the elf strode towards the black-and-white haired captain. While Sassa waited for the purple-eyed elf to return, the dessert was set out by the cook.

Without hesitation, Sassa stood from her seat to grab one for herself and for Zoeichi. Sassa customized her own ice cream with sprinkles, wafers, and hot caramel sauce. Unfortunately, she did not know what sort of toppings Zoeichi would have liked on hers, so she left that one empty for the time being. Zoeichi would be able to add toppings to her ice cream later, if she wanted to add some additional flavor to her own ice cream.

With a nodded thanks to the cook, Sassa returned to her seat and set the two cups of ice cream down on the table. Then, she began to eat her ice cream with a metal spoon, savoring the caramel sauce as she did.

Savoring the sweet flavor of the ice cream on her taste buds, any concerns related to sensor readings or neutrino emissions were in the back of Sassa’s mind, for the time being.

Kamikaze looked to the Elf and said, "Yes, a situation has developed. I am sorry to leave you in suspe—"

She was cut off by her bright haired XO saying, "We need to run more scans!"

"Right," Kamikaze said tersely. "Aether wave detection, albeit unlikely, may yield results!" She turned her bright light teal eyes to the sensors operator, then nodded to the grey paneled soldier. "Have at it!"

Kamikaze's body turned to Zoeichi and she put a hand on the tall woman's elbow and bent her head, "We might soon need our Bastion. Let's wait and see what sensors say."

Aratani called out to Oliver, "Settle down, it's okay!" while she jumped up and put her hands up, flailing a little so that her bright silvery hair splayed out.

With sound of the ship beginning to speed, Hasewega straigntened herself out as a situation seemed to be unfolding. She pushed her SACOS back up before she spook. "Right, it sounds like we have work to do. Sivins-hei, as you were. Return to your current plans and be prepared to assist the Taii if she needs anything." Her focus shifted to the other SAINT agent in the corridor as voice turned more authoritative. "Sakaki-hei, I need any maps you can get your hands on: shipping lanes, comms maps, meteorite forecasts, anything. If something moved in the system, I want to know about it. I also want any reports of this 'Elfrin' if you can get those too. Report back to me in my cabin in 15. Dismissed."

And with that, Hasewega turned and walked down the corridor to her cabin to begin her favorite part of being a SAINT agent: Analytics.

Something about Sakura seemed to change, shift. As though a sudden thought had completely changed her attitude, "Ma'am? Dear Lady? Didn't know I'd become some china-doll queen all of a sudden. So MR, Sir, Master, Lord. Are you trying to apologize for touching what isn't yours or here to try for round 2?" Sakura stood with her hand on hips and a dirty ladle in the other hand pointed at Lucas. "Well no matter, since you're here to help grab that apron and a pair of gloves and let's get soapy."

The neko spun on her heels and returned to her washing up, it didn't happen often but on occasion her inside voice would become the outside voice and the sarcastic side of the cook would show. "Actually I guess in the kitchen I am basically the queen, being the only one here and single handedly making the food. And don't take that as a reason to compliment the food again, once is enough otherwise it's just wasted time when you could be wotking. Trust me I've heard the rumours of don't insult the cook and all that nonsense, to spit on my own creation would be a waste of good food."

What could Lucas say, he was flabbergasted. He had tried to apologize, and she had turned around and insulted him for showing respect!? Was she mad!? What kind of woman becomes hostile when a man tries to be a gentleman?

"It was not to insult you, it was to show manners. A man is to always show respect to women. Be kind, polite, and mannerful. Back where I come from, most men would not be so kind. And yes we had an accident that resulted in inappropriate contact. I was only trying to apologize for the transgression, as I have always been taught to own up to my mistakes. So sorry for doing so. If hostility is all you give for someone trying to ask for forgiveness, then I will not bother.", He said this with a expression that even though started as shock, moved to firm seriousness. He would not let her phase him.

So with a sure stride he did as asked and donned the apron and gloves and joined her at the sink. With deliberateness he scrubbed and scoured. All the while, his abnormally stern expression fixed upon his face.

Sakura regarded the preacher with an unsympathetic look, "awww poor boy, can't take a joke. I am flattered you want to show me the utmost respect, I really am, but the standard amount will do, I don't take well to overly fancy titles." Sakura said as she cleaned off the ladle she'd been holding and replaced it in the kitchen in its proper spot. "Although that is an interesting point, what was your home like? I haven't had the chance to visit many places yet so if it's no trouble I'd love to hear about it."

Sakura spoke softly as she moved back over to the preacher and put a hand softly on his arm, "It would at least break up the awkward silence of washing dishes don't you think?" The grey skinned neko spoke with a smile moving a little closer than she needed to. Having taken a keen interest in the social training the neko knew how to get conversations where she wanted them, as long as the other person wasn't so self centered it didn't work.
