RP: YSS Hana [YSS Hana] Mission Two: No More Worlds to Conquer

Juno once again made sure her suit was sealed before she hovered her armour clad, weapon bearing form over to the formation in the airlock and took up position next to Zoeichi and reached to the rack of weapons on her own back, retrieving the Aether beam saber-rifle, being mindful as she rested the blade atop the shield on her arm so that nobody got poked or prodded by it.

The combat engineer took a few precise, measured breaths as she psyched herself up for the doors to open and once they did, she shot off with the rest of the formation, coming to a stop when they came to a stop so that she stayed in her place in the formation. The 50mm gauss cannon on her right shoulder made some whirring sounds as it deployed and began locking onto one of the missiles, Juno trusted Sassa's ability to hit them yet making sure plans B through to Z were available put her mind at ease a little. "Aye, same here" she spoke after hearing Zoeichi was doing the same thing as her "We're here if you need us"

Latch exhaled, getting himself reconnected with the Hana on a level past any physical bond. Yes, he's going... Metaphysical. He closed his eyes, feeling the thrum of the ship through his seat, this Iroma will treat this vessel as if it were his own mansion-ship, the 'flying houseboat' that he was born and raised on for all of his life. This is his first mission, and if Kaze-taii is going to put this much faith in someone who not even half the strength and utility of a Minkan, let alone a Nekovalkyria, then Latch Gaillard will have to put in even more effort than anyone here to ensure the ship is in the best hands possible. His eyes opened, the words of Kaze-taii being used as fuel for his overfilling pot of bravado and confidence.

"If this ship didn't have half of the safety features, I'd say hold on. But since this does, I'll make the small request that you all enjoy the ride!" Empowered, Latch committed to something even better than a full-fledged plan; just throw caution into the wind, forget protocol, live and think by whim and desire! He let the Hana drag a little, letting the missiles hover right behind them at one second distance. The pilot increased acceleration, and called upon the Hana to flip the ship and preserve the velocity it had been building as it went the opposite direction. It slid under the two invisible missiles, forcing them to slide off and away from the ship, buying the scouting ship more time.

Those warheads are going to come back around for a second pass, and the risky Latch was fully prepared for them as he went right after the opposing spaceship. "Tell them to make some noise, Captain!" He twisted the turrets, and had them fire at the warheads that passed the Hana.

Lucas followed the others taking up a right side position of the arrow they were forming. He felt no fear as he leaped into the void, soon bursting forth on their intercept course of the approximate location of the enemy vessel. He did not hesitate, but kept his eyes focused on the objective at hand, with a clinical indifference he hadn't shown in a while. The weapons and armor may be nicer now, but violence never changed, and he knew full well someone would die at the end of the day. Whether it be the enemy, or it be the unfortunate loss of one of his brothers and sisters who now flew with him. an outcome he much wanted to avoid, no matter the cost. As Sassa asked to intervene, he knew her heart was in the right place, but her mind needed to be focused on the objective at hand. The YSS-Hana, and more so her helmsman, was more than prepared to handle the pursuing warheads. They needed to deal with the ship launching them, lest dealing with the first two, will just be replaced. Time was of the essence, and he wished she realized that. As much as Lucas hated to admit it, those warheads still being around gave them time, time they needed.

"Arturius-Hei, joined formation. I have a full payload for our sneaky friends launching warheads, ready to bombard targets as called.", Lucas stated as he joined the formation.

Oliver stripped out of his uniform quickly, throwing it into a locker and donning the skintight black suit worn when piloting a MINDY, stowing his NSP and belt. He ran into the PA rack, sending a signal prior to his arrival, the suit opening and awaiting his arrival. As the order to form up was given the Minkan was close to attaching his missile pods and the rest of the equipment his MINDY used. He stepped in and the Power Armor closed around him, the systems booting up. He stretched a bit to get used to the armor, then began a systems test.

Scalar Mounted Submachine Gun? Calibrated and hot.
Missile Pods? Ready and waiting.
NSBs? Ready to deploy.
Barrier Module? Charging and ready to block incoming enemy flak.
Armor Service Pistol? Check.
CFS Functioning? Affirmative.

Perfect. Instead of the usual Buttpack which included extra survival supplies, he left a medical bag nearby so he could provide immediate care should he have to return to the ship with a wounded teammate. He joined the others as they began to leave the ship, jumping out towards the back and joining the arrow formation. "Masuda joining formation." The Medic said, his MINDY cutting through space as the formation moved to intercept the enemy ship. He prayed there would be only one, not an entire fleet they somehow missed.

Armory to Space

Stein nodded as he was given the signal to deploy. He watched as the first several Yamatain armors deployed, then he followed. He quickly boosted out and into the black.

"Stein, deployed. Setting up overwatch." He reported. He flew moved up at a 90 degree angle and pulled out his scout cannon. Using a sniper rifle in space might be difficult for some, but Stein was just as comfortable here as he was dirt side. A targeting reticle played out on his HUD as he monitored the situation. "Ready to intercept, on your order."

Well, mroe outside of it. But close to it.

Aradia Sivins rolled her shoulders back as her somewhat lightly-equipped Mindy slid into the formation, bow in her hand. "Let's see what they've got out here... They've probably been following us for a little bit. A chance encounter is almost impossible, y'know." Her petite frame gently hummed with energy as its built-in enhanced sensors package started to scan the area; not as powerful as the ship's of course, but every little bit helps.

Tomomi continued to combed through the sensor returns, looking for even the slightest disturbance to the background noise. A stray artificial looking spike among the monitored communication frequencies, a burst of tachyons or radiation that should not be there. Anything.

"Wheeeeeere are youuuuuuuu?" She would say, mostly to herself. "I have gifts for youuuuu."

Kitchen

Sakura continued cleaning up the small pile of dishes that she'd collected from the wardroom once the others had left for the task, whistling a faint tune to herself she had plenty of time to herself to think. She'd only known the others for a little while and there seemed to be an interesting mix between them with a couple of odd quirks here and there, although she was no exception to that. Thinking back to the series of events that led to, what she considered a disaster but the others probably thought was fine, but knowing that there was a mindy in the cupboard only a couple meters away made her all the more annoyed. Such a careless, no, idiotic mistake. She had all the opportunities to fix her mess and didn't take them for fear of what, making dinner 5 minutes late?

"Next time why not just cook the damn food with a plasma rifle why don't you genius, maybe then it wont be as out of place as seeing a mindy holding a frying pan with oven mitts on." With the dishes finally done the neko washed her hands and began methodically placing everything back in its rightful place, she couldn't help but wonder what the others were getting up to outside the ship but knew she'd get an after action report to read over later anyway. With all the small cleaning done she moved onto the room itself, donning a set of rubber gloves and a face mask the cook grabbed a cloth and bottle of tough degreaser and polish.

Moving around the tables and chairs Sakura was pleasantly surprised to find that there was little mess to clean up, it made a nice change to some other wardrooms she'd seen before where occasionally the walls would be lined with leftovers for weeks at a time. "Note to self, thank crew for being better during dinnertime than yourself. Also, do some intense boot licking to avoid being kicked out of the kitchen by the captain for wearing a mindy." Mindy... oh right, she still hadn't put that away and so finishing up her polishing and standing back satisfied at the shine coming from the tables once more the neko moved back and retrieved the suit from the cupboard.

Mindy's were not light pieces of glorified armour by any means, they weighed as much as a well built nepleslian or more but when the one doing the carrying is an enhanced cat girl that sort of weight was not much to worry about. Hell they wore the damn things all the time and even with the powered movement assist and CFS and all the onther fancy gadgets, they were no suit of feathers. Making her way to the PA rack with her own suit draped over her shoulders Sakura again wondered what was happening outside, she'd felt the ship lurch earlier but hadn't heard anything that sounded like explosives or even starship class weapons. In fact it seemed too quiet for what she assumed might be a battle, then again people did love their diplomacy, maybe they were having a tea party and the captain would pop in any second and ask her to make scones for the crew.

Kamikaze read the report coming in from the ship's sensors as the ship's tachyon emissions spiked and the ship's position in space not far from them, ninety kilometers out, was visible on screen. It also showed the aether missiles were the least of their worries. The gunship was sporting a main weapon much like a Plumeria, which was charging at that very moment.

"Their stealth tech is too good! The fleet needs to know about this, immediately!" Kamikaze said quickly while whipping her black and white hair around her as she looked to the comms operator. Turning again, she looked to Latch, "I'm trusting you! We all are, get us out of their range!" To her sensors operator, she said, "I need more information on their main aether weapon!"

Space

Shinrin called out, "Teleport to the starboard side of the enemy ship. There is no time to question command, Hall-hei! I want Arsenal and Arturius cutting the hull and the rest of you, ready to board!" In a blink, she was no longer there, but had appeared next to the starboard side of the fast-moving Elefirn gunship. Her aether wings thrusted her closer to the hull and she grabbed on to a protrusion on the ship, instructing others as she did so.

"Grip the ship and sound off, who's here?"

Sara's Cabin

Yuu Sakaki entered and spoke, "I think we are closing in on an Elefirn installation... Or are being led there. I don't know, though." Her honey-orange eyes looked concerned with her upturned black brows above them.

Spaaaace

Aradia Sivins inhaled sharply, moments before she winked out of existence - and instantly appeared less that 30 meters from the enemy's ship. Her petite body dashed towards the vessel and latched on to the same protrusion Shinrin was clinging to; the elysian's wings were compressed against her back, minimizing her body's profile. "An ambush? Why did they give us the time to react?" She mulled over a couple possible explanations for why the Hana had gotten attacked so suddenly... From a stealthed enemy who held an advantage, as well!

She let go of the improvised handle with one hand to briefly re-check the status of her weapon. It was ready to fire... Good. It would be needed here, today. But first... The hull must be breached.

Space

Zoeichi took a deep breath, glancing at the weapon in her hand, before glancing up at the command, letting the submachine gun hover next to her as she swapped to her two swords, holding them both in one hand, putting the Ke-M2 on the free hardpoint now. A soft whir resonated through Zoeichi's Mindy as her aether generator was put through the labour of kickstarting her teleport unit. And like that, a purple hue appeared around her. Collapsing inwards to carry her to the enemy ship in the blink of an eye. Roughly twenty meters away was where her teleporter carried her from the ship. The jets on her back sparked to life and gave a single thrust to have her catch up to the ship.

She flicked out one blade, using the teeth forged in the serrated back of the blade to hook behind an outcropping, holding the sword in her other hand. Flicking it around idly as she waited for the others to start cutting.

A glance to the side, in the general direction of the Hana. The ship that had become her home for a while now. And it'd be a cold day in hell if someone threatened her home and got away with it with all of their limbs intact.

"Ay- Affirmative" the combat engineer spoke, correcting herself, as she hastily prepared to teleport closer to the enemy gunship with the saber-rifle in hand. There was a small flash of purple before Juno re-appeared next to the ship.

Now the weapon-laden Minkan's plan was to pop back into existence 10 meters from the ship so she could quickly find some small crevice or protrusion to grab onto - yet whether it be the suit's fault or simply user error, Juno had phased into existence not 10 meters away but 1 meter away and so the distance was closed a lot quicker than she had expected which resulted in a loud thudding sound as the front of her speeding mindy impacted with the hull of the ship.

The next sound was that of metal scraping against metal as her figure rolled away from the gunship with some of the paint missing from it as her heartbeat soared and her cheeks began to burn with embarrassment. It took her a but a short moment to right her orientation with the ship and burn her wing thrusters to quickly close the distance it took for her to find a hand hold and secure it, the metal crumpled slightly as her white-knuckled grip closed on it.

A very quiet "ᵍᵒᵈ ᶠᵘᶜᵏᶦⁿᵍ ᵈᵃᵐⁿ ᶦᵗ " could be heard over team comms as Juno pulled her feet down to touch against the hull as her wings continued to emit thrust. She released her grip and began to stomp forward along the hull to a spot she decided should be right for them to enter through, the blade on her saber-rifle flared to life as her stomping stopped and she plunged it into the hull. A circular shape was cut into the hull of the ship as Juno brought the blade around yet it did not fall through like she expected it to.

The combat engineer could be seen face-palming atop the gunship before she swapped the saber rifle out for her scatter-gun which would hopefully be better suited for the interior. Juno bent her knees before she shot up about a meter, the trails coming from her mindy suit's wings intensified as she shot down and brought the chopped up portion of the hull with her into the gunship - she pulled back on the pump to cycle a shell in and immediately began to sweep her shotgun around the depressurising environment as her voice came over the comms again, loud and clear this time "I made us a door".

"Load up!!" Shinrin said, "Arturius and Arsenal, take point!"

Shinrin Yoku said to the away team members still near the YSS Hana, "Stein, Koizumi is going to teleport you with her unit!"

The inside of the compartment of the gunship they had cut into was losing oxygen and a few items on shelves jiggled and began moving towards the cut entrance in the hull, fast.

"Watch it!" the team leader called as she avoided a fast moving drill gun as it flung itself out into space. "We're in engineering, looks to be empty. Arturius and Arsenal, take us in. Hall-hei, conduct scans of their technology in here while the rest of the team gets inside."

"Understood! Moving into enemy ship interior. Safeties off.", Lucas said using his thrust to dart into opening SMG at the ready as his armored boots thudded, his momentum causing him to slide forward as he scanned for targets inside the compartment. It was doubtful anything would have survived such a unexpected and violent venting, but EVA gear was another story.

On a side note he made a mental note to have a word with Juno later.

Hasewega placed her hands together in front of her mouth and breathed in before speaking. "'I think' and 'I don't know' are not phrases we should be using as intelligence operatives. We do not deal in vagueness. Obscure reports cost resources and lives. Our job is to know, and what we do not know will be brought out into the light by any means necessary." She stood up from her seat, the SACOS no longer hiding the piercing blue stare from her eyes. "Am I understood, Santô Hei?"

The last part felt a little of to Hasewega. She had to be stern, but she felt something she hadn't experienced for the past few years in the Star Army. Something... familiar.

"Too damn good. We can pry the information from their cold computers after we murder every single one of them in hopefully very painful ways." Tomomi would say in a very cold say as she has the sensors do exactly as commanded. The tech seemed way too perfect and that frustrated her. Though a tiny portion in her mind wonders why they even dropped the cloak to begin with.

Questions for another time.

As the hull was cut open, Zoeichi moved in after the two soldiers delegated take point. With her plasma boosters and a rather creative use of the teeth forged in her sawsword hooked at the hull, she positively flung herself in. With enough force to crush anyone in her way. She clunked down a bit away from the two Iroma, holding up her swords. "Taking up the rear," a soft breath came from her. A moment of pause. "If it's war they want. Let's give them war. Right here and right now."

Stein wasn't keen about teleporting, but he didn't really have a choice. "Alright then, let's go." He said, moving towards Koizumi. He attached his cannon to his back and flared his thruster, putting him on an intercept course with the much smaller Neko soldier. "How exactly are we going to do this?" He asked her as he neared. He flared his maneuvering jets again and stopped right in front of her.

Up close, he really wondered how this was supposed to work.

Juno's shotgun was slowly swept from side to side as she scanned the room with it as her team-mates piled in through the entrance she had created, hopefully people were too caught up when they were trying to hold on for dear life to notice her clumsy slip up with the teleportation module and the subsequent impa-

The combat engineer didn't even fool herself, no doubt people had noticed it but hey - that was all behind them for now at least. A wrench bounced (mostly) harmlessly off of her suit's left wing before it pirouetted into space as she took a few steps forward with a raised forearm shield and an itchy trigger finger. "So far so good" Juno spoke into comms, her voice had a surprisingly upbeat tune to it despite the slip up and the fact they would most likely be goring this ship's crew in a few minutes.

"Understood, Kaze-taii! Engaging evasive maneuvers!" The Hana gunned it, turning the ship on a dime and jetted away from the mysteriously stealthy ship.

Latch just hoped that the main weapons that the enemy has aren't anything to spectacular; maybe a generic super-laser? Yeah, that sounded nice. Ion cannons aren't so nice, though; ion cannons do nothing but make you weaker and feel more insecure about yourself, stripping your strengths away until you can only take a mop-

Woah man. Woah. Just focus on flying, and not about swabbing the poop deck. Latch retrained his black-and-red eyes on the monitors, and kept the Hana going. There's no telling what range that the enemy has, which makes him all the more eager to get out of range.
