Once the cargo bay was breached, Carter went in the door, and straight up to the ceiling. He launched one quick shot from his grenade launcher, aimed at the chest of the Docile that Navian had marked, before drawing his LASR and snapping off one precise shot aimed at the "eye" of the unit. His Gauss cannon, guided by his suit's AIES, fired simultaneously at the same target.

YSS Kaiyo Bridge

Misaki changed her footing, switching to lean on her right as she looked over the screens. She looked to Eden with a slight smile at her latest strike of morale-boosting words. She had her own doubts of these opposers, and she turned her head to follow the screens again. She spoke wtih a tone of mockery,

"And they believed they stood a chance against the Star Army of Yamatai."

It sounded really corny, but Misaki didn't want to become the fabled Executive Officer who said very little and did very little. While true she hadn't done much so far, she could at least try to inspire as well.

Incapacitated a ship, and torpedoes
Taking note that the target is disabled and unable to return fire, she shifts her focus towards the next contact in question, mentally checking and noting it's not the one being boarded at the moment. After acquiring another computer-assisted lock, Santo Hei Shan opens fire once again, setting the specific angles to intersect at a position relatively behind the target, resulting in an intended effect of increasing the effectively damaged area without compromising accuracy heavily, once again prioritizing the active and detected weapons systems, passing the cone of hell across the length of the ship and- on hearing about the torpedoes, she leaves the targeting as it is and takes four of the available defense cannons, prioritizing defense of her ship over offense against the enemy. Attempting to track the payloads, she wastes no time peppering the area she is leading them with, with ammunition to cause premature detonation. An imbalanced usage, as three turrets focus on the closer torpedo and the forth on the further one. A bead of sweat slides down her temple, and a gasp-which had a quarter-second's cease in her control-refills her lungs, her face turning slightly more red as she forgets to breathe while managing the threats, at the same time compensating aim for the pilot's maneuvering.

Boarding Pirate Ship

"Try to remain within direct line of sight and rely on direct laser based communications. Those shouldn't have been affected. I hope." Mitsuko let out a sigh of relief as the jagged chunk of hull was sucked into space, letting the two of them pop inside, their armor letting them easily ignore the atmosphere attempting to rush through the hole they'd created. They weren't greeted quite as warmly as the other three, but the reception was not exactly friendly, either. Murakami squeaked softly at the sight of several large missile batteries pointed directly at them, obviously meant to fire out through the door they had sliced apart while entering. She tensed up for a moment while the Elysian soldier scanned the room for targets.

Once she remembered to breathe, Mitsuko was able to analyse the situation. Both of them could hear the sound of battle further to the rear of the ship, as the trio entered combat. Their helmets lit up with information as well, although it was difficult to accurately track everything through the obstruction of the ship's innards. "Trap?" She referenced the other soldier's file again, quickly noticing her aptitude during demolitions training. "Oh, yes...Nashira-Hei, please prepare these missile batteries for explosive detonation. Quickly. I believe we can spare...27 seconds..." Mitsuko made sure to keep her helmet pointed at the other Mindy, the red laser blinking as it transmitted their communications, now that they were no longer in direct contact.

The battered Mindy II bounded past Meissa, taking over the job of scanning the room from the Elysian. The Gauss Cannon on one shoulder unfolded, while a LASR attached to the other rotated into position as well. The Neko raised both hands to ensure she had maximum coverage of the space in front of her with her forearm weapons, floating into the air for a proper vantage point. A small timer began to tick down in the corner of the HUD on both Mindys...

"Oh, yes...Nashira-Hei, please prepare these missile batteries for explosive detonation. Quickly. I believe we can spare...27 seconds..." .
"Already on it."
Meissa turns into a whirl of activity as she hums a little tune while splitting the blocks of plastic explosive into manageable chunks. She places one chunk inside the tube, one on the joint between the loader and the launch tube, one in the very sensitive electronics, and sticks a chunk in a missile's fuel, just for overkill's sake.
"Charges ready."

Six of the six missiles that sprung from Yoshida's shoulders hit their targets, decimating the firing arm of one of them and halving the armor's shields of another with an MG-32. The third was left still standing, having had their shields all but halved, as well. They pointed their HMG and began firing directly at the Neko, but the swarm of NSB's took care of that for her. All she needed to do was return fire. But doing that could prove impossible, as the Docile was engaging thrusters, moving erratically in a fashion that was hard to track for the Mindy. Once the NSB's were no longer a threat, the Docile let loose massive white flashes from their HMG at the Neko. The other, with the MG-32, aimed and fired at the infantry Neko, as well. If she didn't do anything and fast, she would be hit.

Carter's gauss canons did more damage than the LASR, which hadn't quite penetrated the "eye" of the unit with a single shot. It did cut off visuals slightly and the Docile flailed for a moment, blinded, before the gauss canons effectively pierced and exploded within the Docile. Despite his easy victory, another unit was moving in, the one that had its firing arm knocked by Yoshida's missiles. The Docile had picked its HMG back up with its other hand and was firing at the engineer, shooting out in sudden bursts as it engaged thrusters and became a moving target.

Navan's aileron saved her from nearly being hit from an infantry battle rifle's fired shots. She avoided it with her maneuverability and damaged the same craft with her forearm weaponry. It was not down for the count, however, and continued its barrage of attack against her. When the Elysian used her aetheric pulse cannons, however, three rounds came out per second and were too hard for the Docile to dodge. It was felled.

Meissa's explosives weren't working yet. In time, that would change. Mitsuko found the room was clear and only had to wait for Meissa to leave the cargo bay.

"You are right about that," Teien Eden said to her XO. "They thought they could get away with their trickery! Not today!"

Mochi had been in the lab at the start of the combat, internally deciding that he'd be more useful in this case onboard rather than in the away party. While he finished up his work and stowed away what he had been working on, the Doctor watched the ships cameras intently on the display. 'Why would pirates take slow craft rather than fast craft? Surely they wouldn't be able to catch all of their prey with cargo ships.. Even with an ambush the prey could just outpace them. Something else is going on here.'

As he analysed what could be wrong here, he seemed to keep coming back to the laws of momentum. Big ship, big momentum for ramming. Eventually he got to the Bridge doors, deep in thought as he stepped in quietly as not to disturb the crew. Silently as he could, he shifted over to the left of the chair Asuka was sitting on and rested a hand on the back of it, flitting his eyes over the readouts. Eventually, he gathered his thoughts. He wasn't sure of his conclusion but it was his job to advise after all.

"Eden-taii.. Given they willingly picked a fight with several faster and more well equipped vessels than themselves, these pirates are either stupid or they have something more up their sleeves. Given their dimensions, I think they're likely to attempt to ram one of our ships if they're near to defeat, possibly even detonate their explosives internally when close and fragment." It was better said than unsaid, even if both hypotheses were incorrect.

Carter spoke upon witnessing his first target fall "One down."

When he came under fire, he immediately shifted several meters to the side in a reflexive attempt at evasion, CFS shield soaking up the first few hits. He looked at his new attacker, then activated his Photonic Array, throwing up a barrier a little over a meter in front of him, facing the attacker, in an effort to buy himself a few crucial seconds. He turned away from his attacker, and took careful aim at the Docile firing an HMG at Yoshida, before letting out another synchronized shot of his LASR and Gauss cannon, targeting the Power Armor's eye and chest, respectively.

Yoshida all but let out a Yamataian school girl squee of excitement on seeing the volley land for the most part, but quickly reminded herself that this was a battleground, not a place to sit in self admiration at your own accomplishments, and in the middle of battle no less. She tried for a brief moment to get a lock on the docile that had she had the attention of, even trying to guess where it might go but to no avail. Instead she opted to unleash another volley of missiles on the pair taking aim at her, two per target once more. If nothing else she hoped to distract them enough to stop shooting and focus on dodging, though landing a blow would still be nice.

After realizing her pretty little cloud of nodal supporters had been eliminated, much to Yoshida's dismay, she decided it was time to positions, and on seeing the somewhat distracted seeming HMG weilder going after her engineer companion, her tactics as well. Rather than waste her time going for an enemy aware and focused on her, reacting to her attacks, she had decided it might be more worthwhile to assail a less attentive combatant. Kicking off the wall and activating the thrusters, she shot at an angle to the ceiling, nearly skidding on it as she moved in a manner not dissimilar to the docile that had been taking evasive manuvers against her, but with a clear direction. She kept this up as she soaked up lucky, or very skillfull fire, moving as fast as she and her AIES could keep up with without slamming suddenly into any walls to position herself above the one she had injured. Suddenly she stopping and kicking downwards off the ceiling at it, and activating her aether blade, fully intending to have this particular foe short one brain bucket. "You're mine!"

When the doctor came into the bridge and stated his worries about the pirates Ito immediately responded "so that's what they are planning." Ito said to herself in a low whisper. Then out loud said " don't worry Doctor that's what you've got me for I'll keep us out of there ramming path." But as she said that her mind went to work. What if the others didn't know about this. If they don't then they could be in serious trouble. "Captain" Ito said "it might not be my place but I advise that we should inform the rest of the squadron of the possibility of the pirates attempting to ram." Ito nervously awaited a response from her commanding officer.

"If they're ramming anyone, they're ramming us," Asuka said cheerfully. A moment later, she realized what that might actually mean, and added a very worried "Uh-oh. We've got incoming!"

Missiles were launching from the nearby, more recently-pirated Caravan's shuttle bays in its nose, streaming inbound in the gap between shots from the Kaiyo's primary and secondary weapons. They were turning back toward the Kaiyo to accelerate. Hit or miss, they'd be passing through the Kaiyo's flight path before the main weapon array could recharge!

Misaki got paranoid at Asuka's report, she pointed to the Starship Operation's console more than the operator and seemed to say with a hint of fright, "Arm the Type 31's, the turret systems!" She looked back to the viewscreen and attempted to find the incoming missiles with her eyes and mind. She once again started rubbing her thumb and forefinger together out of anxiety.

YSS Kaiyō, The Bridge

"If that's what they're going to do then we'll--" she was cut off by Asuka's worried statement.

"Do as Misaki says! Get those turrets ready, Arbitrated Shan! Ito Arnbjorg, I think you know what to do!"

"Taisa!" She said to Catherine Ross, commander of the squadron. "My team believes they will be trying to ram us. Please provide additional assistance to the Kaiyō!"

"The Vampires are all but downed," the taisa confirmed. "We will be aiming torpedoes at the second Caravan, named The Whistler, that made an appearance. Stay clear!"

"Ito, stay out of the YSS Excalibur's line of fire!" Eden relayed to her. To the power armor team, she said, "Get that ship downed!"

Pirate Ship

The Kaiyō power armor team pushed against the Dociles with just enough force to end the fight between the two teams as the Dociles were no longer capable of fighting. In the time during the fight, though, the rest of the Dociles on board had become piloted and six came into the hangar bay, all outfitted with the same small arms as those that came before. This time, they were all moving targets as they engaged thrusters immediately upon entering the bay. They shot their guns quickly and precisely, but it was up to the small team to dodge with even more accuracy than the Dociles exhibited.

Mitsuko and Meissa had a clear shot to get to the hangar bay and assist. There were just ten more seconds until the explosives would detonate.

"Arm the Type 31's, the turret systems!"

"Already happened, tracking eight. We-we'll be in the clear."
That's what they heard, at least. In her mind she adds "I hope" afterwards.
As she focuses on the inbound missiles, she lapses enough to lose track of the current target-an error of inexperience, no simulation is like this. Almost entirely fixated on the missiles, predicting their slightly irregular movements, translating said movements into a target lead, and using at least seven independent platforms to fixate on the leads in question, she cannot say a word as she opens fire. Rather than the previous round-robin style pattern, Shan is using all the turrets simultaneously while attempting to detonate the missiles two at a time, splitting the point defense system's firepower. She may not know how to safely take a rocket apart in the field, but she knows enough of the design of standard self-propelled explosives and their detonation systems to prematurely light up the area. It just comes down to the right aim... And with luck, a chain reaction between the missiles.

Carter took a few precise LASR shots at the approaching Dociles, then, realizing the difficulty he would have in reliably landing shots on the surprisingly agile power armored enemies, promptly swapped weapons, taking evasive maneuvers himself while he attatched his LASR back to its hardpoint on his shoulder, and drew his grenade launcher. He soaked up a few shots from the HMGs and small arms fire before he began peppering the Dociles with Concussion Grenades, using his launcher's airburst setting in an effort to stifle attempts at evasion.

He quickly informed his teammates of his change of tactics. "Can't get a good shot. Switching to area denial."

Carter watched the attacking Dociles the entire time, both himself and his AIES vigilantly scanning for a clear Gauss cannon shot. Should any of the Dociles find themselves standing still for even a moment, they would quickly find a 3-round burst from the engineer's cannon awaiting them.

Pirate ship-Hanger bay

The strike from above Yoshida pulled off was a sight to behold. Swinging her aether saber as she landed to the side, straight through the unfortunate pirate's helmet and skull. Hardly a sound to be had, with only boiled metal and blood, and charred flesh left behind in the place of what was once a living being's head after the passing of the radiant bright blue blade of fire, all to the backdrop of explosions and the light they emitted. "Woo yeah! And I thought this was going to be hard!"

Of course she immediately wished to swallow her words as she spotted the six new combatants entering the hanger. With the docile beside her still standing, on the verge of collapse rather, she had an idea. Turning her aether blade off, she quickly grabbed at the back of the collar of the docile, and forced it to bend backwards. After that she raised her LASR once more and braced it against the side of the docile, and flung her and her new mobile cover backwards to put some distance between her and the new combatants, emptying her magazine of ammo as she did so, tyhe docile's inert feet scraping along the ground as they rocketed backwards, if it weren't shielding Yoshida from the oncoming fire to some degree it'd be nothing but dead weight.

"Woah okay I regret everything i've said! Suppressing the enemy!"

Path From Cargo Bay To Hangar Bay

As the last second ticked over, Mitsuko could see the other soldier already turning away from her task, looking very pleased with herself. "Excellent work, Nashira-Hei." Then, she noticed a new countdown had replaced the old. '...wh-wha...Nashira-Hei, I didn't tell you to arm them yet! Oh dear..." With that realization, she turned from her position overlooking the area to face the exit she had marked earlier. "Regroup...quickly!" She squeaked out the hasty orders, entering the corridor that would lead them to their compatriots.

With Meissa hopefully close behind, she zipped through the ship, stretched out parallel to the floor with her shoulder-mounted weapons still readied and arms extended in front of her. She was silent, or maybe Meissa simply couldn't hear her without that helmet-mounted laser pointed directly at her. Either way, she could definitely hear the others chattering, as well as the clear orders from the Taii. Examining the data streaming in from the others' armors, both forearm weapons opened and began to glow as the timer continued to count down.

Re: Imminent destruction of the pirate spacecraft

Greetings,
I hope this communication finds you well.
Sensor data leads me to determine that the other three members of the
away team, besides Santo Hei Meissa Nashira and myself, have sustained
minimal damage during their boarding of the pirate spacecraft, and have
entered combat with armored pirate forces. While success in this
encounter seems all but guaranteed, even with the arrival of further
armored pirate reinforcements, I regret to inform you that recent events
have led to unforeseen and sudden alterations to the plan communicated
during my earlier transmission, 'Re: Designated rally point for armed
intrusion into pirate spacecraft.' These events include, but are not
limited to, the discovery of several large missile batteries within the
area designated on the standard Caravan schematics as the
'Cargo Bay,' the strategic placement of several large, shaped
explosive charges by Santo Hei Meissa Nashira, and the unprompted
arming of said explosive charges by Santo Hei Meissa Nashira. Said
explosive charges were armed with a timer that shall have five (5)
seconds remaining on its countdown when this missive finds you.
I suggest all members of the away team exit the pirate spacecraft
with all possible haste, and the Plumeria-class YSS Kaiyo take the
proper evasive maneuvers to avoid or limit any possible damage due
to blast waves, violently propelled debris, damage to the pirate
spacecraft's reactor, etc.

Sincerely,
Joto Heisho Murakami Mitsuko (Logistics, YSS Kaiyo)

As the text message was delivered to the Kaiyo, and the members of the away team (besides Meissa), one of the Docile armors suddenly burst apart, twin beams of bright energy erupting through its torso from behind. The Mindy II had the element of surprise as the pirates were focused on the three soldiers firing on them, oblivious to Mitsuko and Meissa approaching from behind.

A moment later, the trio heard what sounded like a low whimper over comms as the scarred Mindy II flew right between the two separated chunks of Docile, CFS bubble bumping bits out of its way, before rocketing straight past the other crew members, towards the opening they had sliced into the hull, aiming for the relatively safe, open space beyond.

Carter started in surprise as the battered Yamataian power armor rocketed past him and out of the ship. "What th-" His exclamation was interrupted by his Mindy alerting him to the message, which he skimmed whilst unloading the last of his grenades towards the remaining Docile units.

"SHE WHAT?!" He yelled in confusion upon finding out about the armed explosives in the makeshift missile bay. He quickly warned his teammates before dropping to the opening in the cargo doors and following Mitsuko on her hasty retreat. "Bail! We've got a bomb on board set to blow in less than five seconds!"

Navian independently came up with about the same idea as Yoshida, landing next to the first of her downed enemies, taking it by the collar, and pivoting on one foot whirl and haul it up to full height before blasting off to corral the enemy reinforcements, circling the room counterclockwise, with the Docile armour as a shield over her right shoulder. Her aetheric pulse cannon blazed away at each target that crossed her path, and she didn't hesitate to bash straight through them, 'shield' first, while accelerating.

Inevitably, the already damaged armour she was carrying broke under the straight, and wobbled too limp in her hand to be of much use as a barrier. She threw it down as she came across the next docile, smashed its weapon aside with the aspis strapped to her right arm, and grabbed ahold to bash down its barrier, to allow her to stun the pilot with her forearm pulse cannon's scalar field. "Taking prisoner--cover me!"

Meissa whooshes out of the hull breach, following right on Mitsuko's heels. She seems to be fumbling for something on her utility belt.
