"Oh! Yoshiko apologizes, there are so many new faces around here it's a little confusing" said Yoshiko.

Yoshiko followed Yaeko toward the barracks, keeping a respectful distance as she noticed the other girl seemed a bit jumpy.

Yaeko held out a hand to the other girl as she walked. "My name's Yaeko by the way, Yaeko Munkata. I'm a Geshrin transfer, and you?" She decided it would be easier to make small talk if they weren't moving so she stopped by the door and leaned up against the wall. She looked around the room, smiling since it looked like people were having fun. It made her happy when other people were happy.

The Nepleslian looked at Sil Wide-eyed after the green-haired Neko's outburst, seeming mildly shocked. "I thought Nekos didn't have Periods" he muttered, breathing a sigh of relief when the girl disappeared.

It was getting later, and the sun was already all the way down, darkness descending fast on the twilit compound. An instructor with a Tasia pin on her uniform walked out of the kitchen and Yelled over the din, attempting to be polite. "Last call. Ten minutes and I'll start kicking people out!"

As if they had been waiting for the call, a large majority of the Nekos in the mess got up and put their dishes in the large dish collector, then began filing out. Yoshiko and Yaeko, if they looked back towards the mess hall, would see what appeared to be a wave of mostly uniform-height Neko rolling out of the Mess hall and towards the barracks, helped in their endeavors by a volumetric arrow pointing to the proper building.

"Santô Hei Yoshiko Kit, a Technician." said Yoshiko as she shook hands with Yaeko. "Yoshiko is pleased to meet you, Yaeko"

Yoshiko looked back toward the Mess hearing the shout for 'Last call' and noted the rising mass of her fellow neko heading in their direction. "Yoshiko suggests we move before we are overrun, race you to the Barracks?"

Yaeko raised her head as she heard a noise coming from the mess hall. She looked over to see a wave of people heading towards them. She turned to Yoshiko and said, "Race? Uhm....okay." And took off without any notice. About halfway Yaeko yelled behind her, "By the way, why do you talk about yourself in the 3rd person?"

"OH! I see now." Asher said, after Ringo mentioned his trouble in knowing the language. He sounded rather aggravated as he continued. "Y'callin' me stupid, huh? That what y'doin'?"

Yoshiko followed Yaeko, easily catching up as they reached the Barracks entrance. "Yoshiko has always talked like this since she was born. Is Yoshiko hard to understand?"

Sil sat there scrapping the last grains of rice in his bowl with his chopsticks, before just giving up and using his fingers pluck them out, “Last call? They make this place sound like a bar.” Sil said to himself as he began pondering the likelihood of getting beer, keeping half an ear tuned to the growing situation near one of the instructors.

Yaeko reached the barracks, stopped, and leaned against the wall panting a bit. "No, you're still easy to understand, I've just never seen someone talk like that before." She looked around, wondering how long the instructors would be. "Since they're going to make us pick who we're rooming with, do you want to share a room with me?"

It was probably a surprise to the two girls when a third voice joined, correcting what Yaeko had said. "Bunking with." She said, stepping out of the doorway and out to where Yaeko was leaning against the wall. "It's a Barracks. There's one room for everyone. Even the Nepleslians get to stay with us. You can choose who stays in the same bunk as you." The third voice turned out to be the green-haired Infantry Neko whom had stormed off earlier. She was smirking a bit, as if she found the whole thing amusing, and proceeded to walk back into the Barracks building.

If one were to follow her through the large metal doors of the large stone barracks building, they would find it to be quite different than what they must have been expecting. Inside, there was a lobby area with an empty desk, and stairs on either side, leading up and down to the other levels. The floors were made of polished white marble.

Upstairs in the barracks rooms, there were ten bunks on either side of the room, with a bathroom at the end. The plain-looking bunkbeds had white sheets and light gray blankets, with white pillows. At the foot of each bed were two large black foot lockers.

It was this room to which Ianna now headed, and this room to which the volumetric arrows now pointed the other recruits at. In the middle of this room was a small pile of whatever little personal belongings the recruits might have had, and they would have to sort through it before they could claim a bunk.

"Sure, Yoshiko calls dibs on the top bunk though" said Yoshiko, as she bounded up the stairs to the barracks four at a time.

Entering the room, Yoshiko noticed the pile of duffel bags in the center of the room, and proceeded to find the one that had her name on it. Picking it up she slung it over here shoulder and looked around the room at the various bunks, trying to decide which one she wanted while she waited for Yaeko.

Sil loitered in the mess hall until the glares from the cooks indicated that one of them was going to come out with a butchers knife if he didn’t move his arse right now, which promptly sent him scuttling out like the place was on fire. Sighing down-heartedly he trudged towards the barracks, following the arrows pointing the way, eventually stopping in front of the stone building. “Nice place...” he thought to himself as he stared up at the building, caught between a daze and wondering if this was the right building after all.

Slinking through the door like a mouse entering the lion’s den, he treaded into the foreign domain, feeling uncomfortably like he was standing in a government building, not always a good thing for Nepleslians. Hearing voices of the crowd heading upstairs Sil wondered over to the stairs downwards instead, “I’ll bet no one’s been down here yet.” he said, rolling up his sleeves.

Ringo shook her head vehemently in response to Asher's asertation, "Ringo is just observing her new situation and seeing how the real world differs from what she's been taught, nya." Seeing as it looked like everyone was filing out of the mess hall, she stuffed a big gob of applesauce in her mouth and gulped it down. "Ringo did not mean to call Itto-hei sempai stupid."

Asher deadpanned for a moment, failing to notice any exiting recruits or movement.

"So, y'did call me stupid, accordin' to y'admission." Asher's brow arched as his red gaze poisoned at Ringo.

The NH-29's ahoge twitched as she looked back at the short Yamataian man. "Nya?" was all she responded at first, cocking her head to the side as she tried to process what he was telling her. "Iie! Ringo wa--su just surprised that Itto-hei sempai wasn't as well versed as Ringo's training had led her to believe!" She said all this with a bright smile, not realizing how much more she was digging her own grave, continuing to insult Asher.

Yaeko scowled having not called the top bunk fast enough. She made her way up the stairs and into the room. Once inside she started digging through the pile of bags. Throwing them this way and that she finally found her's at the bottom of the pile. Slinging it over her shoulder she looked around and said. "So which set of bunks do you want Yashiko?"

Asher's eyes squinted at Ringo for a solid moment before turning around to finally notice the recruits and personnel leaving the eating area. A low growl came from his closed lips and he turned to stare at Ringo again. Asher snatched at her Ahoge and pulled across the table.

"C'mon, Granny Smith, time t'go." Asher grumpily as he tugged at the strand of hair before letting go to walk out of the cafeteria. With a bit of a jog, he caught up with the rest of the group and got into the barracks. The first that caught his eye was Sil trying to take a different route.

"Ey! You!" Asher barked at the man, "Hop upstairs like everybody else, people don't go down those stairs."

Well, not no'mo.

Up in the Barracks Yoshiko and Yaeko, along with Ianna (whom had been lying on an upper bunk already, ignoring the other two) were suddenly set upon by a crowd of other Nekos, whom were closely followed by the rest of the recruits. the din inside the barracks room rose as nekos with similar names squabbled over identical bags of identical equipment, and the Nepleslians and Yamataians quietly grabbed their stuff, slyly taking the bunks nearest the restrooms, so they could get ready faster.

Yoshiko was still trying to decide which bunk to pick when she was set up by the crowd of other Neko squabbling over their bags. Seeing she had better decide quickly while still having some choice, she ran over the the bunks nearest the washrooms and managed to grab the third bunk from the back on the right side. Making a flying leap for the top bunk and using her gravitational manipulation abilities assist in her leap and to keep her from over shooting her target. Landing softly on the bunk she Hissed at the recruit that was about to reach the same bunk, staking her claim.

"This one should be good, Yoshiko thinks" Yoshiko called over to Yaeko, a big grin on her face.

Sil as standing on the very edge of the first stair about to step down when "Ey!You!" someone barked with a voice like a bulldog. Sil jumped in shock, almost plummeting headfirst down the stairs if it weren’t for some desperate flailing and his prosthetic hand grabbing onto the rail. The motors and gears of Sils hand whirring and clicking as they bit into the hand rail, the four fingers and thumb leaving deep impressions. "Hop upstairs like everybody else, people don't go down those stairs." said the voice again, still a little jumpy Sil turned his head slowly around, his hand still jammed to the rail, to see the instructor from earlier pulling the unfortunate Neko with the apple fetish, by a wayward strand of hair of all things.

“Uh, yes Boss.” Sil replied, still a little startled at the strange sight. He jerked at the hand still clamped to the rail but the thing refused to move, he jerked it again only for the damn thing to tighten its vice-like grip. He put his foot against the wall and heaved, panting slightly as he put his second foot up as well and pulled again to no effect. “Uh, Boss? I’m stuck Boss.” he begged, feet still braced against the wall.
