I originally drafted these rules for "Mecha Generation" and "Menzai Battlefield Academy" so the writing style for the posts aren't quite correct for SARPG (though this version was used for for the old system here at one point). We all know what fighting, combat, is so this shouldn't take long. The rules when it comes to fighting are very simple. The fights could be arm wrestling to an all out mecha battle. Hand to hand fighting will probably be the most common though because tempers flair and personalities clash. Hand to hand fighting can really be anything from gun duels to fencing to mud wrestling to WWF style wrestling to martial arts. While I was digging around, I came across the old headers for the forums and the ship banners we used to use. I figured I'd post them, since some of them were pretty cool!

A while back I posted the old Star Army forum headers and banners. Today I'm showing the old avatars. Back in the day, when we used phpBB2 (2004-2007), the board had an "Avatar gallery" with a list of avatars users could choose from. Most people just uploaded their own, but that didn't stop me from having some options available in the gallery. When the forum software was upgraded, the avatar gallery went away, but I still have the files (I'm kind of a Star Army packrat, and I try to save everything from the site's history). I have an new idea of a forum/site theme: It'd feature a friendly orange sun rising over a teal ocean at the top. Most of the content areas would be a light teal with black text, while the background would be a deeper teal. All exterior corners would be rounded and links contained within little rounded rectangles. Thoughts? (Inspired by this topic)

In my quest to find more artwork for StarArmy, we've found a few great character artists but so far we've had basically nothing for mechanical stuff, like power armors and starships--that should change. On 4chan's /m/ forum I ran into the artist and local anime convention guest Newton Ewell. Newton has illustrated Roleplay books (including Palladium's Macross RPG) and is a real professional. Unfortunately, he also charges some heavy duty prices ($150 per piece). Anyway, Newton offered to do illustrations for Star Army and today I'm going to commission him to start out with the Mindy M2-2.

So I recall a lot of comments being that the Vekimen don't have the greatest art. So, a friend of mine did up some pictures for me. WILD VEKIMEN ATTACK! I told said friend about SARP, but he asked me not to publicize because he would not have time to do art for the site as a whole. Barely has enough time for the other comissions I got from him. Don't wanna take the chance people will go to him a lot ^.^; All in all, I think they get the point across. The Vekimen aren't Nice.

Hey all. I'm the new art guy who's supposed to do commissions for this site. I got the offer from Wes after posting a nudie picture I drew of Eri from School Rumble over at 4chan's /e/, and I'm currently working out the details with him. Anyway, since I don't have much of a portfolio, apart from some rather perverted pictures, I figured I'd offer to a couple of free pictures to make up for it. Since these are free, I'd prefer requests that aren't too complicated to pull off. Also, the better and more detailed the description, the better the chance that I'll actually get a good result. I've been meaning to teach myself to draw manga-style for some time now. Now that i have joined SARP, i find that i have things i want to draw. This is my first full-bodied drawing, having previously drawn 5 heads... The line work was done on standard A4 paper, then scanned in at 600dpi... I know the chest, hands and feet need work - adapting to 4 nail-less fingered/toed hands/feet is a challenge. The colouring is flat because at the moment i have to do all my artwork in Microsoft Windows standard Paint program and i did not want to have to shade each pixel by hand... Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, especially if it can help me improve ;) ~ iain

Well, here are my arts. As some of you know, I'm normally a pencil artist, but lately I've been trying to do more on Photoshop mainly so I can do color too. But it's been hit-and-miss for me. Anyway, I need some opinionated help with my attempts at drawing Nelew, my IPG character. The first one is my first full attempt at drawing Nel at anything even close to realism. I kinda like it, but she's supposed to look androgynous, which I think I missed. But the eyes and hair color are spot on. The skin is supposed to be chalk-white, but unfortunately shading that color creates a zombie-like pallor. The second one is just an experiment, but there's a chance that the big-eyed blank look somehow fits her character...but it also makes her...

Misadventures of Asteria: Bones Featuring McGreggor and Cleo.

hi hi It's been a little while, but I had an idea for another little vignette from the melancholy life of Komatsu Elena. This time in mini-comic format. Komatsu is a private investigator now, a step up from hard labor to be sure, but still not quite the same as piloting a starship. I'm still getting used to using Clipstudio instead of Photoshop. I'm starting to get the hang of brushes again, but getting a good variable line width continues to be difficult.

So as many of you fine writers may know the M2-4 has a nice illustration, but the image doesn't portray very much room for a man. I thought it would be really cool to see Yamataian PA's in both male and female variants. So, I have contacted the original artist for a quote. $120 for the front view plus $90 to add rear view for a grand total of $210. I do not have $210 to invest in art but I could part with 10 or 20 and still pay the bills. So I would like to gauge interest and count pledges. If 20 members, plus myself, give $10 to this project it'll happen. I would ask @Wes to handle the financial aspect of this to ensure that it is handled correctly.

Posting a bit of character art i sketched up last night/early morning. It's still pretty rough but sleep calls so i will have to postpone a cleaned and coloured version for later. PS: I am willing and able to draw character sketches for other players too just pm me.
