I've pretty much forgotten that I have a deviantArt profile until I decided to get some commissioned art from Zairyo. It was just sitting there, all barren and stuff, so I decided to start posting my DoGA images on my profile. And what do you know, one of my designs has already been placed as someone's favorite. Well, I don't have much at the moment, but I figure I'll put what I have up now, and just update as I go. Keep in mind, none of this is canon material; The only stuff I have approved is too small or detailed for me to do, with my skill and only using DOGA. L1 at that. Here's a design. Started with a modified A-Wing, kinda went off on a tangent. Here's my 'artillery' ship. I kinda had the idea of this ship really only having point defense weapons, and one, slow-firing, uber-powerful main cannon. Last, but not least, is a Clone Dropship-esque troop carrier. I still need to arm it, and once I figure out how, add doors and stuff.

Yay! One of my real life friends drew me a picture of an angel, and I realized that it reminded me a lot of one of my characters! Agrael Abdiel now has a body to go with the text. Her hair isn't in a pony tail, but it could just be down at the moment this 'snap shot' was taken. Unfortunately, my coloring skills are full of fail. Well, here are my arts. As some of you know, I'm normally a pencil artist, but lately I've been trying to do more on Photoshop mainly so I can do color too. But it's been hit-and-miss for me. Anyway, I need some opinionated help with my attempts at drawing Nelew, my IPG character. The first one is my first full attempt at drawing Nel at anything even close to realism. I kinda like it, but she's supposed to look androgynous, which I think I missed. But the eyes and hair color are spot on. The skin is supposed to be chalk-white, but unfortunately shading that color creates a zombie-like pallor. The second one is just an experiment, but there's a chance that the big-eyed blank look somehow fits her character...but it also makes her...

So I borrowed a Tablet from a friend of mine and I’ve had quite a bit of fun messing around with it, here’s what I’ve got so far. I took a sketch of my character and cleaned up the lines, added colour and even messed around with some shading. Well, that's my attempt. It's supposed to be a neko, but near the end I lost my energy. This took way to long to do.

I've been meaning to teach myself to draw manga-style for some time now. Now that i have joined SARP, i find that i have things i want to draw. This is my first full-bodied drawing, having previously drawn 5 heads... The line work was done on standard A4 paper, then scanned in at 600dpi... I know the chest, hands and feet need work - adapting to 4 nail-less fingered/toed hands/feet is a challenge. The colouring is flat because at the moment i have to do all my artwork in Microsoft Windows standard Paint program and i did not want to have to shade each pixel by hand... Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, especially if it can help me improve ;) ~ iain

After looking around for a few hours for inspirational pieces, I came across the Nekovalkyrja and was instantly struck with awe and inspiration. This is the song based upon the Nekovalkyrja. Imagine one in combat while listening. The song has brutal aspects of pure warfare, but a lighter side of the sadness of combat and how some Nekovalkyrja are not entirely destructive by nature. I originally drafted these rules for "Mecha Generation" and "Menzai Battlefield Academy" so the writing style for the posts aren't quite correct for SARPG (though this version was used for for the old system here at one point). We all know what fighting, combat, is so this shouldn't take long. The rules when it comes to fighting are very simple. The fights could be arm wrestling to an all out mecha battle. Hand to hand fighting will probably be the most common though because tempers flair and personalities clash. Not quite. Remember a while back, I posted this lovely toy called Doga? Well, I've found a replacement tool that's capable of exporting to even high end graphical packages. It doesn't include parts but the level of control is immense because you directly edit the model instead of parts. And you can export parts to files which can then be combined and shared with other users. So say, if you build a rifle or a unit, you could separate the arms, legs, head, etc and let people customize what you built. There are also plugins that support things like working in scale, special materials, physics, even material and flesh like stuff and texture generation if you look around long enough. Hey all. It's 2:48am and my brain really hurts so I have to ask this. When light bounces off stuff to mark the different shade it is (regardless of hue) and it defines knoocks, crannies and you get smooth gradients and harder areas of light? How do you work that out in your head? I find plain cel shading easy as hell but I'm sick and tired of it and I want to move to something a bit more interesting. What makes light diffuse over an area into different shades and when it's going over curves and such, how do you depict this? It sounds really silly but I've spent so long doing line-art sketches that I just don't know this stuff and it's really bothering me.
